amugs wrote:.52" of rain today and a high of 55*
This is two consecutive days of 50's for highs and I would say set a record for low max temps these past two days. Also, we did not have one 50-s high temp in all of May but two already as we begin June.
20* colder and we would have seen white gold, talk about a record!!!
June 1 was the coldest day since late April. Today more of the same

Not looking at a whole lot of rain over the next 10 days. Monday into Tuesday of next week has a good shot at some. This Friday may see some showers.
Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
Next 10 days as in June 4th-13th? Well the most important date is Day 11 which is Sunday June 14th, when the forum meetup takes place on the Jersey Shore.Frank_Wx wrote:Not looking at a whole lot of rain over the next 10 days. 68* for my high today and 48* for my low on 6-2. My wife actually put the heat on 68 just to get the chill out of the house on Tuesday. June 2nd and the heat was on, makes me sick!!

Ugh heat in June.
I did briefly turn on the heat in the car during those first 2 June days in the 50s with rain and wind. A very warm May has acclimated us to summer heat, making the chilly early June feel espically cold... relatively speaking.

Yep, bizarre this early June cold snap.Mom (94) put the heat up a couple of times Tues-Weds when I stay with her in Fort Lee.Lee mentioned it was like a late March day when it hit only the low 50's for the high.

Frank, it's doing what it's supposed to do, not 47 or 48 for a high up here a few days ago.

Boston set a record for the lowest June high temp ever recorded with a high of 49* to start the month. That crazy snow pile lives on.

True that, my friend. As long as it's not a heat wave I'm ok with occasional 90s here and there.
Looks like Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning we could be dealing with rain. Not a lot, probably around quarter to half an incH. Then it could be awhile before we see rain again. Meaningful rain, at least.

42° for this mornings low. Couple that with the first three days in June where we never got above the low 50s and this has been my dream June so far.

Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
There is clearing taking place ahead of the front, hence all the sunshine we're seeing right now. This is helping to strengthen the instability (CAPE)
http://www.goes.noaa.gov/GSSLOOPS/ecwv.html
I do not think there will be much to worry about in terms of tornado's in our area. Shear is not too impressive. We'll see. Look for these storms to arrive late afternoon into evening.

Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
I wouldn't think so either but the air def feels like it is destabilizing, bright sunshine here. I would think we will probably see some good strong storms rain lightning big booms etc. The fun non-damaging stuff, but as you said we will see, may miss entirely. Thought it was funny one roge cell just north of the tip of LI a little while ago.

Re: June 2015 Obs and Discussion
Frank if you were to guess a time to get indoors here in southern WC, if we get anything at all what time would that be (mainly because I do not want to get soaked nor the baby getting home)? That is one gigantic tornado watch and svr tstorm watch is almost all way from upstate NY to the southern US.
