2/13/17 High Wind Event Warnings / Advisories Issued

Had a few good gusts so far but unfortunately it seems my anemometer is frozen so no data, will have to go out and give it a spin

957 power outages mainly across queens and brooklyn, outage map says weather related.

For whatever reason Northwest winds usually verify here tree branches down all over the road

have some nice snow showers going this morning along with the wind

Al.it's ripping. Up to 1820 power outages IL about an hr I'm out gping to various high elevaton areas away from buildings etc to measure wish not so damn cold.

Highest gust 32.7 here so far...

they must b verify in mt vernon ur lead the way with 812 power outages in mt vernon 4401 area wide coned. Last half hr that was doubled from 2000. The winds def get stronger and I font think we at height yet. I recorded a gust to 24 mph but that doesn't seem accurate given the amount of tree rocking.

Wow 5,028 outages and rising, what energy company is in nj im curious to see cuz they have higher winds than here.

About a steady 20 mph and gusts up to 38. I could swear by being out the gusts are much higher but that is not what the weather stations says nor weather.gov and speaking of wind, look at the clouds racing by in the sky. The clouds are hauling a$$ today

holt crap well winds def verified that had b a 850mb level wind that worked it's way down but I'm suspicious if that's a typo.

Ya the 850s are mixing down I got image of major tree and lines down in mt. Vernon been drive round per coned map. Vinny did u record thst or nws report?

I'm stuck at LGA (where we just had 61 mph gust, mind you) with a two-hour delay at least.

Once again, a wind event where the NWS doesn't issue a High Wind Warning when needed, yet the event is far stronger than the last time they did issue a HWW. Dumbfounding.

You sure that isn't knots (79 mph)? Those obs were taken from METARs which record in knots, only reason I ask.

Wow u don't get that from 50 mph max winds. Still time issue warning as this is far from over.

A tree fell across the Hutchinson River Parkway around Exit 18 road crews clearing it now. Parkway backed up to Exit 23 feel bad for those cars stuck there doesn't look any one got hurt
