No comments on next weekend? 12z gfs was real close to a major storm eastern New England gets clipped it bombs out sub 980. What do we need to get this further s and then nw? As that is usually the trend I'd say this could be a real threat or am I wrong?

Yes to both! I am Graduating in three years, and the degree type depends, though it is essentially the same. Im applying to SUNY Albany (they have a M.S/PhD in Atmosheric Science), Florida State (M.S/PhD in Meteorology), and Plymouth State (M.S in Applied Meteorology). Should hear back in March...Math23x7 wrote:Dunnzoo wrote:Quietace wrote:My graduate school applications are going in this week....Time flies!

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Been a loooooong few weeks. My 14 year old normal healthy 3 sport HS son was diagnosed with a heart problem. He just came out of surgery an hour ago and everything went very well. Was under for 4 hours. My wife and I kept it pretty quiet even from some of our closest friends. We didn’t want to worry anyone.
Sitting here in recovery. I’ve been a wreck. Dr. Said he’s all done and can resume normal activities and all sports within a week. Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge relief. And now some snow to top it off.

(sigh), Of course the day that I am set to move from Bellerose to a Manhattan apartment, the S&E areas are set to do well snow-wise..

Low of 10 degrees this morning, a few inches of snow on the ground, cloudy skies with a little snow on the way, and 10 days to Christmas. Can't think of a better scenario for getting into the Holiday Season! As CP said in another post.THIS is what December should be!!!

The 0Z EURO has a miracle on Christmas Eve in snow for the morning on the 24th. Too bad it is eight days out and will change multiple times. Also, too bad the cutter's coming late next bringing us into the 50s:

Last night was interesting enough driving in the light snow, going up Long Mountain to West Point for my son's track meet. I love the snow, even when I have to drive in it. I just don't like going up and down mountains in it. As for a white Christmas, maybe that will be as hard to get as Star Wars tickets.

From experience, I know how out of no where heart conditions can come from. Glad everything ended up okay Jim.syosnow94 wrote:Been a loooooong few weeks. Happy Birthday Mugsy!!!
I think the milder and rainy Grinch is going to steal my White Christmas.NWS has me for a high of 40 today and 48 tomorrow. Now I see 54 for Saturday and 40's for Sunday.I have 2 or 3 inches of snowpack on my property but that will never make it.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Doc good morning take a look at last nights and ensemble guidance. As Scott snow 88 and others have said on here Christmas is looking quite interesting. The GFS brings the front through Christmas Eve with snow on Christmas Day. The Euro operational is probably doing its usual thing of holding too much energy back in the southwest and pumping up the southeast Ridge so the front is delayed but not on the eps. Look for the models to start catching on the next couple of days I believe Christmas will be cold and possibly snowydocstox12 wrote:Happy Birthday Mugsy!!!
