Whats saturday look like specifically morning to mid/late afternoon. I saw a few days ago models were showing rain but local forecast no longer shows such. Do not care about Sunday as much but need Saturday to be dry and preferably sunny.

Re: May 2019 Observations and Discussion
Hello, everybody!! I just wanted to stop in and say hi, and say that I will have some value to add to our discussion in coming days I think my tropics senses are starting to tingle a little bit for some early development this month, but I have to delve deeper into things before I go any further. If anybody wants to get a jump start on this, by all means go for it! I hope you are all well!

This is what was SUPPOSED to happen this winter; central-based Niño, high-latitude blocking, active storm track involving both polar and sub-tropical jets.........imagine what could have been. Mother Nature can be kind and she can be cruel. This year, she’s being cruel lol gonna lead to a tremendous growing season again though; just like last year, me thinks.

A good growing season for grass...but not a single crop throughout the U.S. ag belts....rb924119 wrote:dkodgis wrote:The sub-tropical jet has no mercy on us.

How do you figure? Corn, fruits, and berries are gonna go wild (so long as it’s not so wet that they drown), and trees are gonna grow like mad. The only crop that may have a harder time is wheat, because that requires a fair amount of sunshine to really do well. But it would have the right temperatures in the Plains.

Re: May 2019 Observations and Discussion
You are making a lot of generalizations and assumptions here that are not correct given the current state of the belts, especially in the central U.S. I will leave it at that and move on.rb924119 wrote:Quietace wrote:A good growing season for grass...but not a single crop throughout the U.S. ag belts....rb924119 wrote:dkodgis wrote:The sub-tropical jet has no mercy on us.

Certainly a soaker today. Surprisingly, about 13 mph wind here. Anyone spot a warming trend coming our way by the end of the month?

48* and raining. Temps look to struggle to hit even 50 today and maybe tomorrow. Wonder if New England and Upstate NY see some snowflakes mixed in with this.
