The front is still in western NJ and will take a while to pass through, a secondary low will form and enhance the precip through tonight...I see the breaks, but as the front approaches precip will increase....you also have the problem of rain training over the same areas for a long time, increasing the totals. It's not like some of those summer front passages where we get quick kick-a$$ thunderstorms.

I do see a low trying to form off the Virginia coast. if that low tracks due north than yes we may have some heavy rain overnight but all to often these seem to slide just east of nyc. we shall see. do not want to see a deluge tonight.

Ahhh I see, it just got seriously like high wind warning criteria in city. I heard some trees came down on the rails of the train system and debris was blowing all over the place. coulds were skyrocketing across the sky. I am about to get socked with that rain band to south of NYC and looks like it will train for quite a while.

Wow 30-45 dbz rains moving up our way shows 1 hr totals of 1.2 inches on wundermap, yikes! Winds picking up here in Westchester now, probably the same winds advancing north that were in city.

. 31" so far and finally raining now - west end of Hillsdale without power as well  Zoo.

Models had the majority of rain to our west and the rain/ front fizzled out as it moved east.

Great stretch of weather setting up!!

0.91 inches in last hour or so here dang. Thats according to wundermap, I am sure NWS will have actual reports tomorrow, it honestly looks like the heaviest is still to come here, in yellow now red just south of here. It lets up, then pours and over and over its not steady.

Looks like the heaviest training storms ended up over or just east of NYC. Its a nice day today but rather cool. Should get a little warmer as we head into next week.

Today was a great day hitting 74* here with sunny skies all day.

At 54* now and chilly - how crazy is this after the last 4 months I call 54* chilly - I need a drink!! Hahaha.

Nice weather today with sunshine and temps maybe getting into low 70's, probably upper 60's for most. Tomorrow even better with temps getting into the mid 70's. Wednesday will start sunny but clouds will gradually increase with rain by around 3-5pm, thunder possible. Thursday and Friday look like partly cloudy days with temps cooling back into the 60's again.

Long range looks like a torch Memorial Day and beyond, could see our first 90s in the warmer locations.
The beginning of June is up in the air, with some models developing a big trough, and others returning temperatures to seasonal levels, but not really below.
Could also see our first legitimate severe weather threat(s) during that time frame (the end of May).
