If I got 8" from this it would almost be tied with my biggest storm of the winter where I got 8.5".

I agree. A warning is only if they're expecting at least 6 inches and there's no reason to make that call now. Unless they're expecting a lot of ice there's no reason for a WSW in NYC, they've already made everyone aware with the WWA. Besides most people in NYC wouldn't know the difference if they got 5 or 7 inches.

In the scheme of things what does it matter, its all what you end up with.

Here's 18z nam radar at hours 30. Heavy stuff over the area. The bright band over CNJ is heavy precip but likely sleet

I have a WWA for 1-4", seems as though both Mt. Holly and Upton both are quite unsure.

I actually did have thundetsnow in the last storm in a heavy burst of sleet. I'm all set with flooding def that's one thing in wx that isn't all that interesting to me but it certainly can do its damage.
