The long range doesn't look all that cool to me. It only cools down behind the cutters which reinforce the trough over the eastern US. They're very short lived. For the most part, it looks fairly average with a boat load of rain.

It looks cold. EPS has a massive -EPO and tries to get a -NAO going. GEFS also. If the long-range guidance is correct there's some impressive cold coming next weekend. besides the -1 degree day in February it could be the coldest air mass of the season. The GFS 2-meter temperatures could stay in the twenties during the day in the teens at night

GFS has a big phased system that goes out to sea at day 9. CMC keeps them separate. Something to watch. Incredible winter / spring with so many extremes.
