Or maybe this.
As Perry White would say in the old Superman TV Show, "Great Caesar's Ghost!". That second one is beyond belief! No human could possibly live through THAT scenario.

That has a nice Snowicane of late February 25-26 2010 look to it. A driving rain storm in Boston and all of Eastern CT and Ma and ridiculous snow rates in eastern NY, NNJ and NYC. Just behind the Blizzard of January 1996 the Snowicane of February 2010 is my second greatest storm of all time. We received 35 inches of snow in eastern Orange County and 20.9 in Central Park which for a change was an honest measurement. Boston 0 inches of snow and heavy rain for the duration as well as most of eastern and central New England. Anything 12 days out I give a less than 1% chance so not getting my hopes up.

beats me the model must have messed up somehow that would be a godzilla if not roidzilla, but it does move fast too. just for giggles, i have never seen purple for surface winds sustained on a winterstorm before, if this were to actually play out with the 1% chance it has at this pt i would be set for the winter.track17 wrote:How would there be no snow for jersey the whole state is in blue including the coast

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
.......so a week ago there were 2 very powerful storms on the horizon. The first was to be an epic rain and wind storm set to hit on the 23rd. The second was a powerfrul snow storm at the beginning of a major pattern change... at least a Godzilla+, and was considered a "lock" for the 28th. Guess which one is set to verify exactly as forecast and which one is now completely "off the radar"
Between the above and the fact that tomorrow's nor'easter is going to be slow-moving and with temps. in the upper 30's in late January I'm beginning to lose my mind quickly!!!
OTI sanitarium here I come, and this time put away the cocunuts and mangos. It's heroin for me!!!

Straight from coconuts to heroin. I like a man that doesn't screw around when it comes to self-medicating.

I would be interested in you finding the posts that said a Godzilla was a lock for the 28th. Grazie!

I don't just make stuff up my man. Looking back through 30+ pages of posts I found one from Armondo on the 16th. Here it is..
EURO weeklies appear locked in for February, and are on board with the +PNA/-EPO couplet. I do like the first 10 days of the month for something to produce whether its two big storms or one, whatever. It's the period after that is pretty volatile. Not sure whether we return to an intraseasonal NINA cell, or its back and forth, but whatever happens with the tropical forcing will dictate how the month goes. However, whatever we see from the stratosphere also may have significant implications downstream of course. Regardless, a cold and active front end Feb appears evident.
I know there's another one where somebody posted about this upcoming weekend threat on the 28th being "locked and loaded" but I can't find it. I do know it was not you however. Leaving now so can't look any more but trust me a little. I know i get emotional about the weather, but I know what I read!

First 10 days of the month...long way to go. Don't see anything about the 28th.

Seems like people are becoming more aware of what's coming. Supermarket was packed and so are all the gas stations. Just hoping we don't lose power. Going to just relax, keep an eye on the forum and watch the games. Hoping for a Pittsburgh/Green Bay Super Bowl

Just checked the Weather Channel website for here. They're calling for rain and only 5-8" of snow which seems a little low based on all of the model runs. I'm prepared either way. I hope others are as well.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
Hey, given that most of us are looking at rain and at best a short changeover to sleet, I'd take that 5-8" of snow and run with it. haha.TheAresian wrote:Just checked the Weather Channel website for here. I'm worried because my daughter gets out of work at 2AM Tuesday morning and the last few winters have been really light on frozen precip so she hasn't had to drive in bad weather for quite a while.

Re: Wx Banter Thread 2.0
That will be a rough time to be on the roads for sure. As for everyone, just take it super slow and you should be ok. I usually go slow in bad weather and have no problems. My biggest concern is always accounting for the other maniacs on the road.TheAresian wrote:I'm worried because my daughter gets out of work at 2AM Tuesday morning and the last few winters have been really light on frozen precip so she hasn't had to drive in bad weather for quite a while.

That's a problem here a lot. Guys think that their 4WD means they're immune to the effects of weather on driving conditions.

Perhaps my eyes are deceiving me? Right outside my top floor window, I see a tree sprouting tiny, tiny buds. Which wouldn't shock me considering the very mild weather we've been having for this time of season.
