Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Virginia. Delmarva, and Cape May County are going to make out like bandits on this snow. Radar is already juiced over those areas.

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
For my area snow isn't anticipated to start until 11 and end by 4 or 5. While I disagreed with Jake the other night when he said you can't get a significant snow in a 9-hour event. I do think it's hard to get a big snow out of a 5 or 6 hr event.

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
All guidance last night went east rather than staying the same or even jogging west a tad. Unless you live on the eastern half of LI or the immediate jersey shore from central jersey to cape may, whatever you went to bed expecting, expect less today and hope for the best.

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Well I guess rb was right, except that north areas far NW of city have a big band, and city dry slotted and SE is get hammered which was expected, guess ill get out and do some stuff today. NWS not making a move I guess had good merit, frank did say 5-7am and nada yet.

Yet another S and E event in a never ending pattern of large snowstorms recently. The force field of the NJ Border and Hudson River maintain their effectiveness, CP,LOL.If we get an inch out of this I'll be amazed.

Most of the 00z models were well west, not east so not sure where you got east from. Didn't you see how excited we all were? 06z runs were not so great.CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:All guidance last night went east rather than staying the same or even jogging west a tad. Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
from the movement of radar looks like no sig snow will get north of central jersey through eastern li into eastern ct on a diagonal unless it pushes west but doesn't look as if it is. however is the trough actually neutral or even going negative a bit?! maybe im seeing things.

Hey doc and CP, where's the bar on OTI? I hope you are prepared for an onslaught of NWesterners! It's 23° and virga on radar. I'm hoping we get a few inches just to keep me sane. NAM and HRRR have only an inch or two for NNJ.
