Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
Interesting there are still heavy bands forming over Delaware and moving north into interior SNJ/SEPA. Some projections had this ending in those areas by 2 or 3. Looks like it may hang in awhile.

By the time that band rotates through here I should be close to 6". If it holds together we could be at 8" here in Nassau county by the time it's over

Ugh, I'm in between two big bangs of snow. Â I'm in the light green near the Queens/Nassau county border. You see the small space where the border line runs from west to east for about a mile or so? Â Yea that's where I am in Bellerose. Â And that line is Jamaica Avenue/Jericho Turnpike.

Band is sitting very nicely over NYC. Coming down good in midtown manhattan with a little over 3 inches of the fluff.

Just went to submit a storm report to the NWS. You cant manually type in the total? I only saw a dropdown menu to select an even total

Too bad this storm just can't stall and rotate moisture from the gulf inland. Any blocking to the North?

Nope. We have not seen a true -NAO since 2010.

Re: January 7, 2017 Storm Observations
My measurement was around 2.5 to 3, which doesn't seem right since I measured last at 1.5, but then again it just started coming down heavy.

Really coming down last hr or so, taking advantage of those ratios. 22*
Hard to measure with the wind but a little over 3" now.
