That would be cool, didn't reach us here in NNJ either. But we sure can use the rain!

I took mudslides literally. It took me about 15 seconds to realize you both meant alcoholic drinks. Silly of me and I'd like to try one.

Your local liquor store should be able to accommodate you should you so desire. I would recommend either the Bailey's or Kahula brands if they stock them, just fill your blender, add ice, hit the frappe button and you're on your way. It's like an alcoholic slushie perfect for a hot summer day, along the lines of a pina colada.Cheers!
PS-Drink slowly to avoid a shock to the stomach accompanied by brain freeze.

Wow, greybeard, you activated long dead circuits in my brain!
40 years ago, a good buddy and I double dated to the long gone Rockland Drive In on Route 59.We made up in a cooler a drink called a Sombrero. We used a bottle of Kahlua, Half and Half, and a half gallon of coffee ice cream and tons of ice.Think it was the Dracula movie with Frank Longella.Wow, did we get plastered with that.Like you say, those things catch up on you,LOL.
Hot, hot hot continues!

Re: July 2020 Observations and Discussion
Hey Doc, that concoction sounds delicious. Who would have ever thought drive-ins would make a comeback, unfortunately it took a pandemic to do it. Recall hiding in the trunk of my buddies father's chrysler new yorker-it fit half a dozen bodies in that humongous cavern.
Heat seems relentless. Wish we could get some rain to take the edge off. In the mean time, I just might have to get those Sombrero ingredients and whip up a batch.

Re: July 2020 Observations and Discussion
So little rain here, I know some areas have had some downpours in their areas, but not me. I gave up on the lawn, just watering the gardens. I feel like I'm in California, dry, dry, dry! Hopefully we get a good soaking tomorrow night and with the tropical system next week to help the reservoirs. I hope the pattern changes for the cooler when I am down the shore for 2 weeks end of August, but I don't think it will.

Lost power here in edison around 1:30 and it is still out. Storm was pretty intense, some trees down and numerous large limbs. My entire neighborhood is without power

I missed the storms last night because I’m in Portland, Maine! So nice to be eating lobster and escaping the humid weather.

No storm up here. We missed it last night.

Awaiting more drink recipes from my peeps.
