Column has crashed completely. Nice big dendrites. The kind that accumulate rapidly.

Winds are and will pick up. Be careful for what yo wish for sometimes when this bad boy gets cranking!. Just a delicacy of delight outside - 24* and moderately to heavy snow - heavy now 1" per hour rates.
Radar returns are juicy and getting juicier like a fruit that is rippening!
AT this rate we can see a good 12-20" depending on where your at and if those bands train over you.
Those banned maps ???

I am def not a sheltered person, im from da streets yo lol, yeas i def go see 12+ already halfway there and a inch or so since they went through with snowblower a half hr ago!!

look at me in yonkers!! yellow right atop! And I can confirm its really coming down. The flakes are gigantic. hoping that band in LI rotates up, looks like it will. So far this is on track to be epic being we havent even seen the worst yet.

Winds really picked up snow was blowing sideways, and is really coming down hard, i refuse to use the gross words you guys use to describe heavy snow lol

We had some mixing here in Atlantic Highlands, that seems to have tapered off and big flakes starting to fall.

The NAM is really starting to figure this storm out. It usually does at some point. Wait till the afternoon hours.

latest NAM is crazy for western Suffolk! SHowing another 13 inches with those heavy bands setting up!!

The 12z NAM delays the dry slot into NYC/LI by about 2 hours. Instead of 7pm we're looking at 9pm now.

It also shows even heavier qpf falling THIS afternoon across the area, and additional snowfall throughout the day on Tuesday

Those waves look like they are just going to line up in the Atlantic and just continuously move up and train over LI!

1pm and 4pm frontogenesis. If you're under the purple shading, that is 2-3"/hour this afternon per NAM
