February 1st-2nd Roidzilla, Part V: Continued Onslaught
Previous thread is close to reaching its page limit. Continue your observations here.
For those wondering about the sleet, we need to wait for this storm to relax. The LLJ is currently roaring and is responsible for all of these 30+ dbz bands across the Tri-State. Once it relaxes, the precip should go back to all snow. You will be in a battle zone all day so it's not like you aren't accumulating, just not at the rate we initially thought.

This is going to be super close. At this point, we're too deep into the game to make changes so I am sticking by my forecast.

Now that sleet seems to have ended in my part of Hunterdon feels like you will be right on the money (or maybe even a little low) for our area

Have been getting pounded by sleet the last hour. If you told me I'd have at least an hour of sleet in the middle of this storm and still have over 15" I would have been skeptical, but the snow has been so heavy that these brief changeovers to sleet are inconsequential.

Todays storm, with 13.3 inches in Central Park as of 1:00 PM, has already cracked the top 30 all time in NYC. It will be interesting how high it climbs up the list today. If they don't get mixing issues early this could reach the top 10, maybe even the top 4.

I’m a little confused, based off the radar it looks like we’re about done. Can someone explain what’s happening next cause I feel like it’s supposed to be heavy snow until later from what I’ve read.

At this time yesterday, I was crazy jealous of what you're getting. Now I'm content with what I'm getting and thrilled for all of you. Here's hoping it keeps snowing until your snow loving cups runneth over.

Just was out round 2 of clearing cars, about 13 inches, slowed down a bit now. Is that really another 12-18 inches after 1:30pm per NWS post alex? That would put me at 25-31, i dunno if that happens. Still great storm.

Where did anyone see an additional 12–18” per NWS?

Important to look at this from a wide view. Bands keep forming off the coast and pivoting inland. Our CCB seems to be here now, and its poised to do damage across WNJ-NWNJ-EPA

HRRR is struggling........ has the low hooking toward the city.
Wonder what the Pro mets are thinking.
Rain/Snow line was close to Montauk as since backed off, interesting
