yeah i guess so, we pretty close on our measurement, i took mine a half hour ago, ill prolly measure again once its over which doesnt look super long by radar.algae888 wrote:6.5" and still snowing mod. I think the park is correct with their measurement as temp was 37* when precip started and they never got below freezing last night lost some to melting. Big diff just 10 miles north as my low was 29* and snow stuck instantlyjmanley32 wrote:CP you best look into that!! How can I be double that (and yes I measured properly, and even Frank from the bronx has only 3, what a difference that band made over my area 9Al where are you at with your total so far?) I guess it missed the areas just to my south. My frind hours ago reported 4 inches in eastern CGT, if thats true they go see double digits.CPcantmeasuresnow wrote:NYC Central Park 3.0 inches even as of 1PM.

Give me a la nina with blocking any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Most of our blickbuster winters are la nina 95/96, 10/11. El nino's are to warm esp in our warming climateheehaw453 wrote:Light snow with 9" new snow OTG. Fantastic event and the power of an -AO/-NAO really flexing its muscle over what would have been a canonical La Nina February (warm and wet).

It has been snowing mod to heavy for 5 hours now with 2 brief lulls. Wish this fell at night as when rates lightened melting and compression set in where there was sunlight. Fantastic storm nonetheless

4.75” and seems to be winding down. Maybe I’ll hit 5”, maybe not. What a beautiful, relaxing, snowy day!

Re: Super Bowl Snowstorm, Part II: First Call
Whew. I'm finally done here with 9.5". Exceeded even my best expectations. I figured the best bands would set up to my east and 5" would be best case scenario. 2 things worked out were the banding and the surface temps. Starting out at 27 this morning helped.
I'm at 42.5" on the season now. After last year I truly appreciate this.
