68* this afternoon..hubby and I took a ride in the convertible and parked for lunch..by the water...I love winter, but wow what a nice little treat today.. you can see the front coming in getting cloudy and winds picking up..

Hoping this whole wind thing doesn't quite materialize to the extent that some models show. I could do without the downed trees, power lines and no electricity. I just don't see what good that will do anyone.

Give me a good snow storm with calm winds and I'm in heaven.

The consecutive days of snow cover streak ended at 41 days today. Maybe 25% coverage at the end of the day today. Not a bad streak considering the snowfall for the season is still below normal for this point in time with only 25.9 inches here so far.

Hopefully end of February and March will change that.

You are basically due west of yonkers, I have not been outside yet but I imagine it must be getting a little windy if you are having some wind already. What are real time observations showing in terms of where the LLJ set's upo and timing, anyone can answer.

woah, even more widespread 80-96kt LLJ, if 50-70% does mix down its go be bad news, the squall line that comes through at the end ahead of that is going to plow through. Stay safe everyone, though im sure we will all be asleep, or not.

I should have messaged you, we went to Fox Hollow Winery in Holmdel today! Was gorgeous, 67* and not too windy (the buildings blocked most of the gusts!)

We are only 15 min from the winery..next time..can meet up..but a beautiful day today..yes a bit breezy..but definitely did not feel like a February day!

Personally I think areawide sees at least some gusts upwards or over 60mph by looks that if verified. I think the HWW being just far eastern is wrong.

mugs is there anyway to follow this live like a nowcast to see where it is actually going to set up and how amped it gets b4 precip comes in?? Or is that not possible?

Wind wise not that I know of brother

First batch rain coming in, not really any wind to speak of, watch this not materialize

Think this one was another dudd, there should be some wind gusts by now and it is dead calm, im hearing from eastern CT where the warning is it is rocking. guess it set up over there.

Wow yep another learning experience. Doubt we even had any gusts to 40mph. Did anyone have any notable winds? If it did get windy here I certainly didn't notice it.

Jman- just bc it’s not windy in your neighborhood doesn’t mean the rest of the board escaped it. Here in Eastern LI it’s been ripping all night and morning.

nothing crazy last night into this morning I am pretty sure it’s going to start soon

Give them credit tgat the squall line was on PT exactly 630 which nam showed but that's it it's done now. The squall line was the last thing it was supposed be intense winds all night. Down south jrsy has a ave tstorm warning. Heh crazy weather.

56 degrees, cloudy and wind ripping.Squall line past a little while ago.Amazingly on my property in the shadier spots, I still have snow, probably 20% of the property.That snow squall tomorrow if it materializes, should be fun.Those produce blizzard like whiteouts with heavy snow for a while.

I'm set hoping that happens but not get my hopes up. Seems models are decent at picking up on mesoscale lines.

Squall was pretty heavy that came through here. Winds were ripping.

Can you spot the cold front?? Temps drop like a rock when it come through.

What the heck was THAT that just blew through around 6:20am?? It got really noisy outside, the house started shaking, and the rain was blowing sideways from the west so I couldn't even see across the street.
It ended within 5 minutes, and it immediately got a bit brighter outside.
Did a small tornado blow through Hudson County?
My son was on the light rail train coming home from work at the time and it certainly got *their* attention! Luckily it stopped and was down to a light rain by the time they reached his stop.

Noticed that too up here in the HV.I am glad your son is safe!!!

Snow in front all gone. In back, the south side still has snow. 39 here. About 5:15 am an intense wind and rain came through for a few minutes. The rain gauge says just a quarter inch and the stream here is normal. The big story: wind wind wind. Gusts of 49. Steady winds 40. Still some wind. It was an open-window night. Heard the wind. Power stayed on

Was 63* at 6:15 am, now it's down to 46* and falling fast. Some pretty good wind gusts. Went from short sleeves yesterday to a heavy coat dealing with wind chills today!

Temps falling down a cliff. Was 60 at 6:30. Now 45. Thankfully winds were not bad. Worst “damage” was yesterday afternoon when chairs blew off the deck.
