There will be no change to my snowfall map, but I do acknowledge that there cold be snowfall amounts greater than 12 inches in parts of the area, depending on where the banding of the heaviest snow sets up.
And we're off...

Oh ok, yeah NWS did up amounts slightly but more to what you are talking about on ur maps. From models I think NYC area and my area will see higher and of 6-12, just my opinion and from seeing the models snow output, but banding can be very unpredictable so now to watching!

ATTENTION: The arctic front has stalled, or slowly moving over the area. This will ENHANCE snow totals as Frontogenesis will provide lift and snow growth. Image from Accuweather

On my way to manhattan. 13 and cloudy here. Getting ready to be left behind in Orange County as far as amounts but hoping for over a foot everywhere else. If I don't make it back alive nor'easter carry on my battle with the zookeeper for me.

Re: January 21, 2014 Storm Obs. Thread
There was another NW trend on the models thus morning, but I'm not sure it can be trusted. If it's true, the 700mb level low will pass over eastern LI and they will see a dry slot. Central NJ to NYC, including Philly, seem to be the jackpot areas.

Re: January 21, 2014 Storm Obs. Thread
I don't think this storm is starting sooner. I just think the arctic front has taken its time to move out and forcing, or lift, has caused an area of snow to develop before the main storm moves in around Noon.

Re: January 21, 2014 Storm Obs. Thread
Very impressive at this pointl look at the band in the Sw Jersey Eastern PA!
Light snow here in Allendale. Zoo sorry but they made the right call by getting us out early. Try moving 1600 people with 2" + snow on the ground and another 1000 just below you from 2 other schools - elementary and middle - every mother will be picking up tere child in an SUV causing an hour back up easily - worst than construction on the GSP in the summer time! HAHAHA!
