Yep, Mahwah gets about 35 inches avaerage from what I have recording snow totals since 1988.

You and Dunz did a lot better than me on this.I only got 4 inches.I guess the cutoff line was right over my house,LOL! I'm attending to my Mom's needs tomorrow in Fort Lee so I'll get to see the foot of snow they got down there.

Well weather.com has me for 13.4" here in East Northport, LI. That seems just about right. I was hoping to see 15" but I guess there wasn't much back building. All in all a very good storm!

I would say your average of 35 for Mahwah is pretty spot on. Llike you say you've been keeping averages since 1988, the NWS uses mostly 30 year averages but only updates them every 10 years. Because of this most 1981-2010 averages in our area are several inches below their norm because the 1980's was the most snow less decade in our areas recorded history. Those totals will make our averages several inches below their real averages until they are taken out of the 30 year average in 2021.

Example- NYC's average snowfall for 1991-2010 is 29.4 inches per year, but when you average in 1981-2010 the 30 year average is 26.0. The 145 year average in NYC is 28.5 very close to the last 20 year average.

In summary in 6 years when the 1980's are finally out of our 30 yea calculation everyone's averages should go up several inches, especially if the period 2011-2020 is a snowy one.
