Wait is that the NAM showing our possible storm on the 23rd? Look at this, I think either it is and way off or its something different.

jmanley32 wrote:I agree CP, but most people I have saiod that too said NO NY is not part of the northeast but its really negligible interms of distance apart.  My dad just told me maine got 14 inches yesterday and Okemo in VT got 6-7.  I wanna be up there lol.  I have some crazy pics from my grandfathers house of snow piled close to second floor of his house, if I can figure out how to upload them I will tonight.

That would be paradise, I wish I was there.

Like I said, only if an outlet is referring to New England as just the northeast, which is a very limited view, would they not include NY in the category of the northeast. In those cases NY would be referred to as the northern Mid Atlantic.

Anyone that looks at a map can see that NY is geographically in the northeast, it's further north than half the New England states, so to label it the Mid Atlantic is IMO a bad geography lesson.

And the good thing about VT is they know how to clear feet of snow, so we wouldnt be paralyzed and stuck inside.  Alas my grandpa is in his 90's ill and not home so we do not really get to visit in the winter as his house is too cold to stay in as everything is shut off.  He is in a remote town of about 1000 people called Belmont.  Just up from Ludlow and about a half hour south of Rutland in the mountains. Its beautiful he is on a lake and I have very fond memories the thought of not going back much is a real gut wrencher. Sad, My grandpa is in nursing home now but its the right place for him for his age and condition. We are trying to get him to assisted living.

What you describe,JM, would be my Heaven on earth, small New England town with a house on the lake.Sorry about Gramps, but he sure did beat the system making it to his 90's plus he had all those years enjoying you guys having a ball up there. All good things must come to an end in this vale of toil, sorrow and sin.

My Mom is 93, living in her own house of 58 years and full of vinegar.Enjoying her company each time I see her.

Thx doc, 12z GFS is literally almost identical to 06z, we need that trouigh to go negative and that boundary to stay a bit further north, that snow on the NAM, from what I understand from Raynos new video is something that might push that boundary too far south. Still waiting to see at least it hasnt gone any further east. Hoping for that westward to start. Still a monster storm progged.

I still think this storm goes OTS or just brushes the coastal areas with a couple inches. Way too much needs to go right for this to be a widespread big storm for this area anyway, though I won't be interested in this threat until tomorrow night or Saturday because it's too nice out to be wasting it looking at runs that will keep changing. Things have looked very possible 5 days out too many times this month.

The 12z Canadian shows a 980mb snow bomb at the benchmark. Let's hope its just the GFS playing its usual OTS games. Up next king EURO.

Mug's I think in your haste to flee the country your a little confused about who sang that song. I think it was sung by The Mama's and Papa's back in the sixties. Now let me get back to collecting the torches, clubs and chains to oust or KSW  king  if this storm does not come our way. By the way I hope you and your wife are feeling a little better. Now back to rallying the villagers to possibly overthrowing our KING.  king

I saw the same but I am not touching that one. Haven't we been bullied enough these last 6 weeks by these models!! I can't take this crap - snow in April  alien is a real kick in the nuts after a dry and cold March - I love snow and would like to see us move ahead in the ranking but not this way - give it to me in Feb and through March then bring on Spring. Razz
