Frank, for what it's worth, I read on Inaccuweather they had reasons the storm busted W of the City:

1) The storm was more compact than they thought so the western edge was bad
2) The storm moved out faster and did not stall as much
3) The storm was a few dozen miles further east

No mention of inverted trough.

Tell me about it. I measured 13" of snow, so for me this was the biggest snowstorm since January 26-27, 2011, exactly four years ago last night. But when I was expecting to get over 20" of snow, it doesn't have too good of a feeling.

Al, don't beat yourself up over this,CP and I west of you got a little over 3.5. Hey, I'm happy I even got that, not to far from me completely busted out.

Forget this storm.We've got a clipper with 1 or 2 inches on the way and another possible coastal on Sun night.

You'll have a nice snowpack for days with that 8 inches of snow there.

Guys, it's the nature of Miller B's, very sharp cutoffs.They don't have time for full development like classic Miller A';s from the Gulf which become powerhouses covering STATES not just LI.

I really think that today is the worst weather day of my life ever. (kinda quoting what my daughter would say if she cared). Horrible feeling today. Trying to be positive, but it just sucks. I can't stop whining.

Although this was a disaster for some, others hit a jackpot. if the trend continues I would think we stand a chance, unlike December. At least I am hoping. And it does look like winter outside for the first time in a long time.

I was happy with 11 inches I mean it was going to be 18-24 but I think Their will be more chances with this pattern. I got 27 hours OT with storm
