Re: BLIZZARD JAN 26TH-27TH: OFFICIAL OBSERVATION THREAD
Can we assume anything based on current location of banding that the more significant bands will stay east over the island rather than northern NJ or NYC? Or not?

Storm not taking the track we all thought as far as hitting NE jersey and nyc the way we thought? If the area doesn't get at least a foot this would be a bigger bust than it was a hype and I would look like a moron for calling out of work.

You will. It's your winter.

Once 700 closes off, which I think it may already have done, looking at the Mesoscale-analysis wind barbs, we should start to see a rapid expansion of the precipitation shield from about I-81 eastward

Most spots in NYC have 4 Queens has almost 5 or above now since Lee's reports. NYC seems to be on track with good numbers

I think during a big storm we should all stay quiet. Storms get jinxed.

I think we shouldn't make solid set in stone prediction til storm develops. We had the maps, now we have our eyes and radar. Let's see what happens with the heavy bands approaching the island. Then we still have "the blizzard" part.

Isn't the surface low much further West than the models say it should?

Re: BLIZZARD JAN 26TH-27TH: OFFICIAL OBSERVATION THREAD
As mentioned. Let's let it develop. See what happens. We all remember in the abc days back when predictions of inches would be far off. But there's plenty of winter left. I just work at a blue collar place and I'm gonna hear sh** tomorrow if it doesn't get going soon LOL.
