The radar over the last hour is encouraging. It's the most westward movement of the precip shield all night. And ironically (or not) right around when the models earlier today projected it. Let's see how far west it gets before it hits a wall.

This is really heavy over mid-nassau,LI. Wind not that bad but snow coming down at incredible rate.

Those bands make it to about Passaic county and then get eaten up
Snowing moderately with winds kicking in
We have many hours to go peeps crazier things have happened over night with bees storms!

I believe when closed off it would slow, maybe stall the Low as it isn't with the jet. Also can cause it to tack further to the west a bit.toople wrote:How does H5 closing off effect storm? Sorry for the weird question.

Frank answered this before. If you look it up on last thread, you will see his answer. If it closes off, it becomes "It's own entity" and is not controlled by jet stream. That means it slows down and throws more snow back. It should happen after 12 but it may be too late to throw big snows back west to jersey. He explained it much better. But i feel bad he gets asked the same question every hour so i will answer it now for him. But i'm drunk. So...good luck with that.

Syo, no problem, my friend, you enjoy! I had two storms of 9 and 7 inches this year. It;s just the breaks. I may not have 6 inches right now, but I have a great buzz from wine,LOL.
