Happy February. Our last month of Meteorological winter.

frank what a turn around this winter. OMG I have 22.5" of snow in the last 10 days and 30" for season. looks like more to come. incredible!!

We should all finish above average. This pattern change has saved our winter. If you recall, I issued a blog last week saying these next 2-3 weeks will determine our fate of the winter. Mother nature has delivered.

And despite having only 28 days its on average our snowiest month of the season. 30 year average for February is 9.2 inches in NYC almost double that in many suburban locations.

Great call so far Frank. Many are already approaching seasonal norms now for the year. I'm at 41 and change less than 10 inches from the seasonal normal in Orange County. Many other locations the same.

23 degrees Heavy snow 2+ an hour. very high ratios.

-4 inches from midnight last night till 4 am
-.10 of freezing rain
-4 inches and still snowing hard in the last 1 hour 45 minutes

Winds picking up here 18 mph with a gust of 22mph frigid outside, how cold is it? My dog turned around and came back inside after opening the door for her to go pee.
Tonight reminds me of last year this time with snow pack of 18" and snow covered streets.

Already down to 15F here, I think many of us get well into the single digits tonight. Definitely not safe to go out tomorrow morning.

It's 8* with a clear sky and the wind has calmed down quite a bit since last nights gusts of 30-40mph.
The moon is full and with the fresh snow pack it reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting. Just absolutely beautiful.

I don't know if this belongs here, but I didn't know where else to put it. I know I've said this before and haven't delivered, but that's because I never heard a response from the person I emailed to help get me going. I have now received that response. I now have the ability to plot any weather parameter you can think of by most models. So, if you wanted to do a case study of an event but need a particular image, or if you want me to do a case study of an event, it's now possible. If you just need an image, personal message me and specify exactly what parameters you want plotted, the region, the exact time (for example, February 4, 12z, 2015), model (if analyzing a forecast or even hi-res to see the fine details involved in a meso-scale process of a snow band or something). If you want me to do case study, just let me know however you choose lol
