mike with today included cpk is more than 10* below normal for the month which to me has to be a record for temp departures. also cpk has not had a single day above normal for the month. we have 9 days left and the only chance at above normal day is sunday with temps in the 30's to low 40's before the front passes. normal high now is 42* and low 30*. so it will be close . my question mike is have there ever been a month where every day was below normal?

Another February streak to consider is NYC, CPK has had 6 or more inches of snow on the ground every day this month.

I don't believe that has ever happened for the entire month and if they get a net gain this weekend of snow vs rain and the snowpack stays as is they may have a chance to go the whole month at or above that figure.

I know the record for 7 inches or more on the ground is 51 days which happened from Dec 26, 1947 to February 14, 1948. That began with the 26.4 inch blizzard of December 26, 1947. I think we can deduce from that 6 or more inches on the ground everyday in February has never happened before.

Great info on that NYC snowpack CP.Reinforces the fact that this has been a February with cold that has not been seen in a while.

Through the first 20 days of February, Orange County Airport has an average high of 27 and an average low of 4, with 9 sub zero days so far.

It has been quite impressive indeed.

Good morning Doc and Cp. Had a low -5 at 2:58am, but I guess the clouds moved in and now I'm up to 0*.
Looks like you guys beat this time. Doc, Cp's like a weather zombie roaming the weather boards late at night. Look at the times he posts at. I guess it's a sign of getting older and not needing as much sleep. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. I'll see you guys later, going out early to run some errands.

SNOW, had -7.5 for the low of the day.Guess we are in a little colder pocket of air here.

Yeah, the last time I slept 8 hours straight, Carter was President. CP and I are zombies wandering through the mainland and OTI searching for weather solace.I solve the problem with an afternoon nap,LOL!

Bottomed out at -8.0 and then the clouds rolled in and temperatures started rising after 4am. It was still the coldest reading of the season, nice call on ths cold outbreak Frank.

Negative double digits was a lock if the clouds stayed away till after sunrise.

When I went to bed for the second time at 2 am, there were double digit negatives all over NWNJ, LHV and a couple even on LI. What could have been.

I lived from 1950 to 1956 in Manhattan, 1956 to 1977 in Fort Lee NJ, 1978 to 2014 in Mahwah NJ and never saw a -7.5 below zero for a low temperature ever,First time in my life.

Cloudy, cold, radar says snow on the way.

Mugsy check my wunderground station westwd3....if you click on the station it shows you the history...like I said my daytime temps not accurate due to the position of my station...nighttimes are ok though
