Hi all!!

I just wanted to let you guys know that myself and friends of mine are getting our own blog operational. It isn't a chat board, just a blog. I know that the main posters on here do a great job of keeping everybody up to date with the weather, but we are just trying to get the word out about it "through the grapevine". If you aren't interested, it's totally fine and I will not be upset in the least, but if you are, here is the web address that you can use to navigate to it:

http://themixedlayer.weebly.com/blog/march-16th-2015

I actually just put up a long-range discussion of my own for those feeling adventurous lol Again, please do not feel pressured to view it if you do not want to; like I said, we are only trying to get the word out about it. It is still being worked on, so expect some changes to it, but it is functioning lol Thanks!!!

The 18Z GFS has a fantasy storm 14 days from now (hr 336).  If it was 300 hours closer, we can get this forum to become active one last time before some members go on summer vacation from this board. lol!

When I was on the 7 Board, after April 1 I would disappear until Nov. 1, but I am making it a point this year to follow all the weather and the scientific analysis of our top 5 crew.Weather is not just winter, it's a year round affair and I would like to learn more about the Spring, Summer,Fall patterns.

WOW, 12z GFS we can only dream days 7-10! That comes west if it were true (not likely unless someone says otherwise) and we get crushed! Look down south 2-3 feet!

LOL gee ace was that sarcasm I hear, this thing if it were to come to fruitation also packing winds up to hurricane force. It is also within Franks timeframe of 21-24/25th, kinda came outta nowhere like the surface maps enjoy doing, not biting on this at all now though show me this in 3-4 days consistently on all 3 models and a bit more west and yeeha!

To funny Ace. Why shouldn't parts of Delaware get their biggest snow ever the last couple of days in March. It seems perfectly logical.

There's a chance that people in our area could see the northern lights tonight. There's quite a storm going on...

Yeah, it may well have, but it's hard to know when it's truly done. Can't hurt to check later.

The family has spring break April 4-11 and we are either heading to Florida, or doing short trips within a few 100 miles from home. I'm trying to find a good source for projected national temps in the 10-20 day range to help me make the call. Any suggestions?

frank when he gets hooked on a solution he is so stubborn that it's hard for him to give in. he has been saying winter is over since march 5th (actually since mid jan.) and has been down playing what models have been showing the last week. I have emailed him many times this winter about his forecasts and he always defends himself. he is convinced that the qbo was the main player this winter but in reality it was the epo and record breaking sst anomalies in the western pacific. he is a good met with passion and very knowledgeable but gets very narrow minded with his forecast at times. I will email him again after this storm if we get 3 or more inches.lol

LOL, that is a guy I would avoid like the plague if he was an investment adviser. His narrow mindedness would cost you a lot of money. At this stage of the game, trying to predict the weather with these scientific models is still behind the curve. You have to adjust with what is actually happening.I am amazed at the skills of Frank, Doc, rb, you and others here who can analyze these models and come out with very accurate forecasts. But even then, there are curveballs like the Hudson River force field in Juno and Anti-Virga for my area in snowstorms this year.

Just let Steve D run with what he thinks is right and he will make such a chooch out of himself that someday he may learn. What's that Italian for hard head....Capo doste?
