Someone on other board said sleet mixing in at JFK. I'm 10 miles due east of jfk and it's still snowing heavy. If this stays snow til 9pm, we have over 6 inches. I can't see that r/s line just sitting there. It always invades S.LI. It will be a first for me if it hit the breaks at franks white line.

wow, the line must be just south of me. I'm only a few miles north of you and we're still in heavy snow, no sleet here.

2 inches here in Deer park and snowing moderatly. Interesting not only being a snow nut like the rest of you but I'm also a running nut! I was out running in the snow and I must say it was uncomfortable with it hitting my face. It felt almost like sleet but it wasn't. More like snow grains! Roads are snow covered and slick for running!
LOL!

Ripping here now with mod to heavy snow. That dbz band over CNJ is nuts.

I think Alex could be onto something with the ULL. Once that swings into the area and the secondary takes over, we may see the sleet line go south again. Cause this is way earlier than expected.

RJ let us know if or when sleet mixes in. CC is showing it on the south end of Staten Island now

Yupp, flow is SSW aloft and you can see that by the orientation of the advancing r/s line. Once the Secondary takes over the flow will be Northerly or NW and should suppress the r/s line. SFC is not an issue.

Re: Final Snow Map - Observations Thread 3/1-3/2 Storm
My local high def radar shows rain/snow line just north of AC. Why so many reports of mixing so far north already. And that NWS special weather statement for 1" per hour is way off. It's ripping way harder than that. I say 1.5 to 2" per hour here, and look at what's coming in due east from NNJ!!

Radars will not pick it up. Use this radar.

Dose this mean more ice because the rain/snow line is moving north faster?
