Great story Damian! I can remember having the windows open and mosquitos getting through the crappy screens and the little bas____s waking you up buzzing in your ear.We had oil as well, I remember it around 15 cents.The whole boiler room stunk of oil,LOL!Your story illustrates how we all made do with life's situation with no pissing and moaning about it.Had an encounter nearly 20 years ago with a snapper trout fishing in my waders in the Ramapo River.His shell was as big as a manhole cover.You never saw anybody run through water like I did,LOL.Is that Pine Bush NY? I have relatives in Westtown.Really enjoyed your story, friend!

Torrential shower a while ago woke me up. .89 inch so far in the bucket.Radar looks dry, don't see all the heavy rain forecast for today.

My phone woke me up with Flash Flood warnings..but it looks kind of dry outside. like a light shower passed through.

If rain doesn't hold temps below 80 today, then that we will keep adding to that, to 50 days and well beyond if some forecasts are to be believed.

.60 in the rain bucket from last nights showers, even some thunder at 12:25am. Wow 42 straight days for CPK , how about KEWR ? they are likely around the same ?

.3" in my area, waiting for 1 last shower to pass through here in Seaside Park and I'll try to get a reading. So much hype from the media about this rain yesterday.

Agree, Dunz, NWS practically called for buying an ark.

Radar dry to the west.Unless redevelopment occurs, today looks dry.Cloudy right now here.

yes so much for the 1-3" of rain forecast for most of the area. got less than a half inch an front has already passed. looks mainly dry today with a few pop up storms mainly east of nyc. seems to be a trend this summer of systems producing much less rain than what is being forecast. hope it doesn't continue into winter.

Today would be 48 days straight at EWR. Last day below 80 there was July 4th.

oh wow. The joys of radiational cooling. 72* here feels great with low humidity. way better than starting the day at a humid 80 or so.

So much for the torch the gfs was advertising 3arly last week through the end of August. This morning it is showing hot end days of August with humidity.
50* here in Franklin last night saw my breath - maples starting to turn a bit up here and people getting there winter firewood deliverys.

Turned out to be a nice weekend here. Some models had a retrograde of low pressure system off the coast bringing rain to the area. Obviously that did not happen, though small chance of showers possible tonight. Will remain humid tomorrow with some chance of t-storm, but the rest of the week looks dry with Temps in the mid 80s

It was a 7 hour drive from where we are to the Canada side.

Doc, same here in northern Orange County. The dog saved me because she wanted to go out right then and I had left my drill outside. Lucky me. Sometimes even a blind rooster can find an acorn.

That front is hanging out right over or just west of NYC. more pleasant dew points most of NJ. Still fairly humid NYC east.
It hit 90 in the park today.
