heat is in for the first time.
I'd be beyond shocked if CPK got below freezing tomorrow. Esp if winds are light. For everyone else thats good but around the city you need wind to blow some of the UHI away.

Its 38* in the Park. 39* at. LGA,  36 at EWR.

Frost on the car this morning and 31 degrees, so it begins... Feels very cold considering the 90s were just weeks ago...

Down a notch to 25 now.

October......the battleground between winter and summer.It can still get into the 70's in November, I've seen that happen through the years.

Accu weather says 31. I think there wrong this time.

Got down to 19 this morning

It bottomed out at 24.2°. For the first freeze of the year that's pretty extreme. It's also on average about 10 days late here for the first freeze of the year.

D tone pretty much summed up New York City's chances to get to freezing tonight and the reasons why in a nutshell it won't happen. It's basically the same reason they never got to zero last year and got stuck at 2° a couple of nights.

If it stays clear all night tonight and the winds are calm I can see places in orange county getting into the high teens. For mid October that's pretty impressive

SIR FREEZE as I Like to call him made his appearance last night in H'dale!!!

Tomorrow morning as per the RGEM, Wow a it's cold:

HP slides right overhead with clear skies and light winds, city may go down tonight as well as other urban areas.

The record for tomorrow in the park is 30.It probobaly stays in the record books

That's right CP Central Park Needs certain conditions to get down to certain temps.Its easier for them to break record highs

I think we sneak into the teens up here easily;as long as winds stay calm and allow for maximum settling into the valley. Going to see a large temp inversion tomorrow morning on the soundings...

Liking the calm wind forecast for tonight, don't need wind chills at Citifield!

Looking at the radar, I would expect to see many reports of flurries and snow showers in our area today. Especially north of NYC.

1:15 p.m. first snow flakes. Lasted 11 minutes. Came down hard for a little while here in Syosset.

1st inch of snow here at Lyndon State College last night and currently snowing right now at a temp of 31*

Just got some reports of a snow squall from my town at home on Long Island (Saint James)
