2016 Mets Season

True about the hitting, but I'd rather see them have a crappy April-May and then get red hot late August through September for the pennant run.At least Cespedes looked better.

These are the teams that the Mets need to beat, not lose. Starting the season against these teams 2-4 is unacceptable. Get your act straight.

Well if it's any consolation, I have tickets to 7 games between now and July, with probably another game or two yet to be determined. Maybe I should make sure the games are earlier rather than later!

I have tickets to 10 games lol

4/26, 5/3, 5/18, 6/15, 6/19, 7/30 oops, only 6 more, but have a code good for another April or May game!

 

It really sucks to waste a great outing by Syndergaard. 7 innings, 1 run and 12ks. The hitting sucks right now and it has sucked since the world series. I will be going to the game tomorrow.

Good observation! Hitting has sucked since the World Series.Spring training was a disaster and now this terrible start.

Last two games there were two bases loaded set ups and nothing came across.Wright choked on one.Another situation, 1st and third, one out ,lefty pitcher against lefty Conforto still a rookie.Collins should have put in righty Lagares who plays left field.Result...Conforto grounds into DP.

Verrett pitched very well. This team needed a win before going against the Indians. What a effort by Cespedes. I thought he got hurt but thank god he didn't. Now lets start a big winning streak =)

They are a disgrace to baseball

Colon pitched a very good game. He is 43 and still throwing in the low 90s. Amazing.

Big breakout games for De Aza, Walker and Cespedes. It ended up being very close but they still got the win.

Excellent bounce back game by Matz.We really need him.Somethings wrong with Harvey.Maybe that surgery has screwed him up.DeGrom possibly going on DL.Maybe Logan Veritt will fit in as a starter after that great game he pitched.As such, we would have Syndegaard, Colon, Matz, Veritt and Wheeler slated to return in July.Great to have depth in the starter department.

Hitting looking a lot better.Cespedes,Granderson, Walker.....all coming alive.Liking Plawecki better then
Arnaud right now behind the plate.Wonder if they could make a third baseman out of him?

Yep, good for Matz. Here is what Warthen thinks is going on with Harvey:

Warthen believes he understands the reason. The pitching coach suggested that Harvey has a mechanical flaw while working from the stretch. Warthen described the issue as Harvey “collapsing” on his back side rather than staying more upright and then “muscling” the baseball rather than throwing fluidly.

He'll get it fixed. I think he is trying to pitch like deGrom and Thor, but that's not who he is.

OK,Janet, good information on Harvey.Glad it's mechanical and not due to injury or surgery.Warthen is a great pitching coach and will solve it.Harvey did great for 4 innings there.Guess when he went to the stretch, the glitch kicked in.

Good point about De Grom and Thor! Harvey not king of the hill anymore and he may be pushing too hard.

Meanwhile, the ageless wonder Bartolo just keeps putting up good innings.I've never seen anybody like him watching baseball 56 years now.So happy we have him and our Fans can enjoy his outings!!!!

Another great performance by Syndergaard. This kid is a beast. All night he was pumping out 100 mph fastballs with a nasty slider. He might be the best pitcher on this staff. The offense is also starting to come alive. Good to see.

Incredible heat from this kid.So good to see Capt. Davey's power surge.Good for him, nobody works harder or bleeds Orange and Blue more than him.On a roll, hitting starting to click.Hope this kid Veritt can throw another good outing.

WOW! What a game! Sorry to the Phillies fans on here, but 6 HRs and Verrett pitched great. The boys are on a roll!

Another great pitching performance by Verrett. I really like him.

The bats are really coming to life. 6 homeruns tonight and 17 homers in the last 5 games. Another big night for the big hitters ( Duda, Walker, Cespedes and Conforto ). It was nice to see Granderson hit a homer. The Mets are now 1 game over .500. Lets go Mets.

Harvey still struggling even though he got the win last night. Can't get the ball down in the strike zone, and not hitting d'Arnaud's target. 100 pitches in 5 innings is not good.

Big game for Granderson last night with a grand slam and a solo homer. Mets win 6-3. Harvey lasted 5 innings giving up 2 runs. He finally got a win this season. What a arm Cespedes has. He threw out a runner from centerfield on a fly. Wow.

I'll tell you what, this Met Team is a pleasure to watch now that they are hitting.Harvey working through his mechanical adjustments.Think he will come through it OK.Hats off to Grandy! Grand Salami!!!!

Good outing by Matz. Wow, this team has a lot of power. Walker already has 7 homeruns. He hit 16 last season. This team has a good shortstop and a good 2nd baseman. Everyone is hitting except for Travis. Need him to start hitting. Mets are now 9-7 ( 3.5 game in 2nd ). Lets go Mets
