Re: June 12th-13th Severe Weather Discussions/Observations Thread
The surface low ended up taking the north track. So less rain is expected, but now we have to worry about severe weather this afternoon developing along the front. It's a trade off. Rain or severe weather? Looks like we will see severe Wx

This storm was a bust and I'm pissed.
Re: June 12th-13th Severe Weather Discussions/Observations Thread
Wow, were any of the models showing this little rain? If memory serves me correctly, they all predicted at least 2". I know models are for guidance and not forecasting, but really??????

Well, yesterday's 12Z RGEM showed the big soaking rain hitting us during the afternoon and evening hours, but last night's 0Z RGEM backed off it and showed pretty much what actually happened today.

I took a lot of heat at work from this bust and from friends - is it me or are these models really are starting to make no sense to a degree. Zoo you are so right about that an as of this morning the pro mets were calling for 2+" of rain! After reading Frank's 10AM post and looking at the radars I was also pissed. The old saying, the weather is the weather. BUST!!!

Look at the radar now. The coastal has formed and I'm getting heavy rain. Watch us get 2+ inches of rain now (including the precip from earlier today) and the forecast will have verified.
LOL
LOL
Re: June 12th-13th Severe Weather Discussions/Observations Thread
The coastal has really slowed down and now the forecast may actually verify. 2+'inches may fall in the red zone (including the rain from earlier today) and 3+ in orange zone, which was my forecast for this storm from yesterday. I've been beating myself up about the forecast but it looks like it will be close. We'll have to see what the official reports say.
Re: June 12th-13th Severe Weather Discussions/Observations Thread
Big total of .77" thank heavens...with the rain in Rockland County we would have flooded again if our forecast verified, the brook almost hit flood stage as it was....
btw, great pics in the Record mugs.....

Janet,
Thanks itwas an awesome day and we have more press coming our way with a feature on Verizon Fios Channel 1 next week and NJ Classroom Close Up (5-7 min segement!) airing in December a few times.
Thank god it didn't rain like they said it would because I drove over the dam this morning and they were dumping water which was not happening yesterday the three times a went over it - the latest being at 9:30PM.
All I can say is my grass and plants are looking awesome - we should not have an issue with water restrictions this summer but one never knows, right.
BTW did you go to themeting Wed night? I have to make one them - it is as you know so hectic with juggling the family schedules.
On to the Monday storm.
I am a coupleof days early but Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's and those who will be one someday, it is the best!
