Re: February 2nd: Light Snow Event
Complete non-event here st the coast. Snow ending right now. Got a dusting on top of light rain all night. Waste of time following this one. On to the Super Bowl Storm. Hopefully it works out better. Got a sinking feeling about this February

Re: February 2nd: Light Snow Event
Never did make the changeover to snow here, or if it did just briefly before ending because just wet ground here. Very windy though.

Had some wet snow earlier, but no stickage. 27.9° and a little icy in spots..

Re: February 2nd: Light Snow Event
Coating out here on LI. Unfort it looked like the front moved too fast which was my only fear. Moving on.

Yeah, looks like NWS was right on this one after all. Barely a coating out here in Nassau county. On a side note, the ground hog saw his shadow in PA., but Staten island Chuck didn't. Did NJ Frank see his shadow this morning?

1.2" Fishkill, NY. I was a little too bullish with the trailing precip for areas generally south of I-80, but from other obs it seems we were all pretty close elsewhere. I was about 75 miles too cold. Not perfect, but considering what the "pros" were going with, I think we verified much closer than they did from the same lead times.

Re: February 2nd: Light Snow Event
seriously? Few miles away It never did anything here everything is dry. Real trecherous commute for sure. Seems like nothing is working out. I see the scroll for sig snow events was taken down and chances lowered for sun. Not surprised I had a feeling it wasn't go happen. Imo we may be done here though im hoping we can still get one more storm. In all seriousness what happened seems like everyone around me got snow except me.algae888 wrote:Light snow now coating on the grass and coldest surfaces

Re: February 2nd: Light Snow Event
Syo it's just go rain this weekend. Yup it stinks but what we going to do. And looks like confidence for the earlier mentioned active time frame is gone. So that gets us halfway through feb. And I've heard by other boards it's go be an early spring I dunno if that's right but if true basically leaves us two wks end feb for any snow chances. Hoping winter's get good again in the future any predictions for next winter lol jk

Re: February 2nd: Light Snow Event
FRANK, SCOTT URGENT REQUEST: If possible, can you please send an email to our board members to make note of any snow, rain, or ice accretion totals for this event somewhere; whether on their own or on the forum so they revisit them later when I'm ready??? This would be a fantastic test of my project in due time, and I'd really appreciate your help in getting as many reliable observations from our members as possible for this event.
What's needed?
1. Total snow to the nearest .1" (if possible), rainfall to the nearest .01" (if possible), ice accretion to the nearest .01" if possible. Best guesses are also ok provided they are relatively close and not done using the Syo-method (though the bias-corrected Syo-method will be acceptable :p)
2. State
3. Town/municipality/city/CDP/etc. where the measurement was taken
Again, these will be requested to be revisited at a later date, but if you could get this sent out en-mass I'd really appreciate it. Sorry for the late notice!!!
