Pretty much so they can move stuff around without the redtape right now. But last time we had Stella, they never did and they didn't get any funding for it...

Down to 41* here. Nice temp drop from my high of 48*. Got a little nervous when I saw it hit 48 just after noon. But looks like it's going to settle back into the 30s after dark as projected.

NY is taking this lighter than snyone. Their briefing is more serious mentioning the elevated chances of power outages due to heavy snow and 40 mph winds maybe higher per 3km. But discussion is not worded like Mt. Holly

thanks mugs... not sure for us..we are in that 3-6 range...i was just curious if the state is on emergency can they legally open all the schools since you are not supposed to be on the roads...the surrounding towns also had flood issues on Friday...we did not...I live on what we call the wet side..but our flood gates keep us dry

I think this is the first time I've ever been legitimately scared before a snowstorm. This area will take weeks to recover if this plays out how models are forecasting it to right now.
I don't even know if I'll be able to run the generator tomorrow during the height of this....

Re: March 7th Godzilla: 1st Call Snow Map
Updated me to 10-16...
...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING
TO 4 AM EST THURSDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of 10 to 16 inches, with localized amounts up to
20 inches, are expected.
* WHERE...In Pennsylvania, Northern Wayne, Lackawanna, Luzerne,
Pike and Southern Wayne Counties. In New York, Delaware and
Sullivan Counties.
* WHEN...Light snow will develop this evening and taper off
overnight with 1 to 2 inches by Wednesday morning. A round of
heavy snow will move into the area late in the morning and last
until early evening Wednesday with snowfall intensity between 2
and 3 inches per hour at times. Snow will become lighter
Wednesday evening and taper off early Thursday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will become impossible Wednesday
late morning into the evening. The snow will NOT be a heavy wet
snow like last Friday's snowstorm, so winds gusting as high as
25 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow and near
zero visibilities at times.

Soul northern WC upped to 10-16, do not need much of a push to get those amounts here talking 25 miles or so. Also they mention again the threat for heavy wet snow weighing down trees, ground still muddy not good.

Yea lost power here to all day Friday but it was restored by nighttime. My forecast is for 12-18 that could be a disaster with a lot of tree damage that will come down not good.

On the cusp - could be all rain but if the storm is more south then you can see 3-6"
