Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations
@Frank - If I'm not mistaking, it looks like the low is setting up west, not east......what was said to be strung out looks like is just phasing further west than anticipated. Thoughts?

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations
So for the first time since about 7 am the snow has picked up the pace a bit. After a morning of alternating between light snow and flurries I’d say I have steady moderate snow. Just starting to coat some spots on sidewalks. Roads still wet but at 31* if it an kick up another notch to heavy that could change quick.

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations
First, I want to say many thanks for all the snow maps, explanations, and forecasts on here. A lot of opportunities to learn about how our weather and storms work. I currently have about 1 inch of sleet and 1 inch of snow on the ground right now. I was just wondering if areas around Mt. Laurel/Burlington County can still expect the 10-15 inches shown on Frank's map and the NWS forecast, or are we more likely to bust low due to the placement of the banding later? Thanks.

Must be nice dynamics north of the LIE bc these bands look shitty as they hit the island and then blow up as they cross the LIE

NBC 4
"Mayor de Blasio and Gov. Cuomo both warned the evening rush -- specifically from about 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. -- would be an abject nightmare, with blizzard-like conditions expected throughout that six-hour span. Thundersnow is likely. Cuomo did the same for New York City, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties early Wednesday afternoon. Three hundred National Guard service members have been activated and are being deployed to impact spots."

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations
You can really see the impact of March sun angle as the snow begins to stick here. The first places it’s sticking are areas where there would be shade if it were sunny. Just an interesting note.

Re: March Madness! Spring Snowstorm Observations
The southern-most low will soon begin feeling the affects of the closed 500mb low entering the Mid-Atlantic. Question is, can this low remain close enough to the coast so it can be tugged west a bit. Or at least stall.
