02/20 Snow Event - Largest Snowfall Since November?

Decent snow in ocean county already. Sticking to cars and cars and frozen dirt. Big time early start and very moderate snow already

As expected I am under radar returns right now, but it is just cloudy. So the battle between the dry air and the precipitation is under way. From the reports I'm hearing to my west (heehaw) and south (SENJ) I'd expect the snow to win that battle here in the next hour and go rather quickly to a moderate to heavy snow. That, for those hoping for an overachiever here, is good news.

There will be a warm push probably between 700 - 800 hPa, but the 850's are really cold right now. You can see those isobars bend on the Appalachians with strong CAD signature.

coming down and covering grass and car quickly started about 15 min ago. currently 30* real feel 21*

Already have a coating on all surfaces, even side Streets. About 1/2” on grass. Talk about a great start...heavy stuff on the way..

Only been snowing for 20 minutes and it’s sticking to everything, even my street.

29* and steady light snow had begun here within the past 10 minutes or so. Not heavy enough to stick to roads yet, but it is steady -- not just flurries.

This looks very similar to the November storm. Same timing, same accumulations down south, same temps up north.

I read that the snow totals are ticking up a bit.

1.5” otg. 24/19 heavy snow.

Past an inch already? I almost don't believe it, but it's true.

The major route between Philly and the central Jersey Shore is Route 70.

This Route 70 express has been really all the sustenance we have had all winter- and on a small scale, it's been a pleasant surprise this winter.



If we stay snow thru 4 pm, we might go as high as 3-4".

A bit farther North than anticipated with Mod - heavy snow but it will retract a bit

27* with moderate snow here. Sticking everywhere except the most heavily traveled lanes on the roadways. Just a coating so far but definitely accumulating from here forward as long as it keeps snowing steadily.

Light snow began 12:20, 22 degrees.Pleasant surprise, thought I would be viragaized for another 2 hours.

Finally a true snow event even thought this isn't going to be a lot of snow and last long. Just need 1.9 inches to reach 10 inches for the winter.

I hope you all up north get the full brunt of this overachiever! At mile marker 80 of the GSP, we have basically already hit our 2" forecast...at a time when the snow was just supposed to start!

The forecasts down here could bust low by at least 2x, maybe even more...

For the past hour or so, this line has been creeping east and little north...

28* with light to moderate snow. Snow is varying in intensity with occasional heavier bursts followed by lighter periods. All roads are pretty much snow covered but the most heavily traveled well-treated have some blacktop showing in spots. About an inch on coldest surfaces so far here.
