Solid T’Storm here. Heavy rain, frequent lightning and thunder. Not a lot of wind here - which is good since that should help keep the power on.

Re: March 2019 Observations and Discussion
I was inside yonkers raceway and missed the alert on my phone but I got something called a dangerous thunderstorm emergency. I have never seen that before. Anyways I missed the whole thing, had no idea we were having a line come through, just goes to show you how truly busy I have been. On a side note I won a decent amount of mney there last night, lets just say enough that I asked for a escort to my car, at 1am that parking lot is seedy as hell. Its one thing to get held up its another to actually have alot of money to give up, wasnt chancing that. My wife also got a new job so yesterday was a great day at 70 degrees!

Took a ride up to Ithaca, NY yesterday and came home today. It snowed lightly the entire time I was there. Almost 30 degrees temp difference from jersey. Nice scenery and vineyards!

I was in Savannah Georgia this past weekend for St Patrick's Day and it was 80* on Friday. Shorts, short sleeves, a Hendricks Tonic with fresh squeezed lemon, and a healthy dose of Vit D compliments of the sun and the golf course. Yup..Im ready for spring too. It felt too good. Happy Spring Weather mom!

Re: March 2019 Observations and Discussion
So frank they have these places called car washes which you should do once a month especially a under carriage wash for the salt helps reduce rusting of pipes cat etc, its not that expensive even for someone trying to save money. It will save you money in the long run and I just cannot stand to see my car covered in white salt (yes the beginning was a joke, rest was serious). Just got a 2015 Camry SE in September and try to keep it clean.Frank_Wx wrote:Looks like an inch to 1.5 inches of rain Thursday. Good, needs some of this salt off my car

no matter how much I love winter..these first days of spring are the best...the seagulls were back in full force today and the birds were also chirping away....dogs loved it too...hey we might be out your way this summer on the boat..not sure of our plans yet..maybe anyone who lives out your way on the board can meet up...when we are out your way...we usually stop at Port Jefferson and Mattituck

Port Jeff is my old stomping grounds as a kid. Im only about 7-8 miles east of their now. A meet up at "The Fifth Season" for some really good food and some cocktails could work. Even if a meet up doesn't work I highly recommend the place. Its right across the street from Danfords, which is over rated IMHO.

43* with a cold steady rain. Have had well over an inch since yesterday. If you look at radar and satellite you can actually see the Low is centered right over NJ this morning. Cold air and gusty winds to follow tonight and tomorrow.

Re: March 2019 Observations and Discussion
36.1° rain with some wet snowflakes mixed in.
Radar showing it snowing at a nice clip 30 miles to my north and west. Winter storm warnings through much of the MHV and upstate NY. Parts of the Catskill region expecting over a foot of snow, parts of the Adirondack region up to 18 inches. Pretty much in line with how this whole winter has gone.
All of this spring talk on the other threads is making me physically ill, but to each his own.

Elevation played a large role in snow even in NNE. My relatives in Stowe say valley (~700') have 4" while where they live further up the mountain ~2000' is over 1' of snow.

61* winds 19mph from the South....where the fires in the Pine Barrens are...horrible smell of smoke and it is hazy out as well. Brings back memories of Brazil. I lived there and there was always this smell in the air...burning is very common where I lived. I am so sad that 8000 acres have burned and its only 50 percent contained...
