Yes, it makes me worry too. He'll certainly make the call but we've been working closely on watching the weather since he came to find I was a weather geek. He's a weather watcher and he's got AccuWeather pro, so I trust him to make a good decision, I'm just trying to get a better idea of what Friday's weather will look like from the good minds here.
NWS saying 60% chance for rain friday.Saturday looks really good and only 40% chance on Monday. Can your guy start on Saturday?
Having trouble wrapping my mind about the central air people not being able to start until late summer?Huh?????

LOL! Thanks Doc! No detail is missed by you. It's complicated. They actually did our boiler and first floor mini splits in the fall, but we had to delay them working in the attic while we waited for the roof to be done, which keeps getting pushed along because of all the rain. Now we've pushed it so far we're bumping into the high season and they're booked up with other jobs.
But it does look like the rain chances Friday and Monday/Tuesday have dropped, so we'll see how it goes.
Thanks all!

The stopper for the roof right now is Friday's rain chance, and that's looking like PM t-storms. WU has me at 40-50% of rain, NWS has me at 60%.
Can anyone tell me their thoughts about what that threat looks like as far as severity and event duration?
Can they get the roof done in one day? Latest nam has rain holding off until about 4pm, and just a few showers, nothing severe.
Good luck!

When the roof on my Mom's house was done in 2005, a crew of 6 or 7 guys did it all in 3 or 4 hours, tear off and replacement. It all depends on the size of the roofing outfit and what kind of damage there is to the wood under the roof.If there is no damage and the crew is big enough, and it's an average size roof, it can be easily done in a day.

My lawn guy told me I have red thread fungus as a result of the cool, rainy weather.Ugh, costing me money.A big flip of the bird to this cool, wet pattern!I need a few weeks of warm, dry weather to get rid of this.

Thanks! I've got a few dormers and a big flat roof so they are planning on a three-day job. They are going down to the rafters and putting down plywood so it's a big job. They arrived at 10:20 and they already have half the old roof off.
But it's looking like a shower line is about to hit us so they are about to start tarping up. Oy!

Re: Banter Thread 5.0
Thanks. Thankfully the outbreak did not occur like was forecasted. We were following a cell that SHOULD have been able to intensify, but when it became strung out and failed to mature, it became obvious that conditions weren’t ideal for large tornadoes- we were on the Mangum OK storm but the stove pipe was rain wrapped from our vantage point. You can barely see it in my photos. Doppler on wheels measured wind speeds in this tornado at 212mph, 135 mph at the surface...

Wow, a good week for stormchasing, but not so much for the folks living out there. I heard some pro chasers are complaining about the traffic and amateurs stopping in the middle of the roads.. how has it been for you guys?

For pretty much my entire life (28+ years), I have lived in NYC. Today, however, I moved to Albany for a bigger/better job, one I been waiting to have for years. While conditions in Albany may be more favorable for snow, I can't help but think that an I-95 special is going to happen, one which screws over Albany.

Congrats Math23x7 on nailing that job and best of luck at it.If we get the Roidzilla down here, prepare for non-stop busting of chops by the board, especially CP, for moving up there,LOL.Seriously, though, statistics prove over the last 100 years Albany blows NYC out of the ballpark with snow totals. You'll cash in when we get the slop down here.

Congratulations. You will be closer to the North country for a few weekend trips if you want big-time snow.

Sorry for all the duplicate pics! I had no idea why they were repeated! took them off. What an incredible week for chasing. Chaser convergence has become a huge problem, and it will unfortunately continue to increase the risk for all chasers out there, especially on high risk days. We were fortunate enough to witness at least 6 tornadoes, with one being a very close wedge tornado we intercepted! Amazing! will try and upload some pics again...
