Not ready to buy into the NAM just yet. We will see what we look like on sat in the am.

That's incredible. She rides the entire eastern coast of Florida and is still down as a cat 5. It's either model error or that storm is the devil.

Yeah, the trough moves out. Was a little closer though than the last couple of runs. I think if Irma between now and Florida takes more of an easterly track and turns north a little quicker, would be in position for the trough to at least pull on it and attempt a capture up the coast

So you all agree, NAM was just a goof? Not possible it might be onto something with that trough?

Cranky WX is angry about the NAM, that's how much he's tossing it. FWIW.

I def wouldn't buy into the NAM right now. Anything is possible with this beast. We may have to start relying on observation and less of models. Remember in tight global models may not be able to pick up on subtle changes in the atmosphere. Bottom line is with a storm this incredibly dangerous all options remain on the table until she is a distant memory. Everyone from Florida to the Carolinas need to have there plans in place.

The 6z GFS has corrected West as should have been expected to fall in line with the other more reliable models. Devastating for Florida.

Another thing to note about the GFS it had Irma getting Sub 900 m b that is very unlikely to happen. All the hoopla over this is mind-boggling with even some saying the hi-res GFS showed 854 MB I mean come on guys did you really think this was going to happen

Irma looks powerful as always this morning. There is dry air wrapping around her center, but she is about to enter a very warm pool of water. We'll see if she can fight this dry air off today.

Seems like all models last night fell in line with the EURO of a track west of the east coast of FL, which is worst case scenario track for many.

Nice first post 2 posts up.  You're obviously uneducated when it comes to weather. A cat5 would never happen up here. It would weaken significantly by the time it got here.  Would it cause damage regardless SURE. But as weather junkies we live for this kind of stuff.  In the meantime I would argue that Frank and others on here have done more to help people in Irma's path protect life and property than your little rant ever did. Go back to trolling unless you're going to be usefull please. Wink
