January 18th Storm Observations & Snowfall Amounts

SNOWING HERE!!
Snow snakes on the road and winds picked up.

Snow just began at 12:50.

Heavy snow, wind is whipping it all over.

Snow began here in the Bronx about 15 minutes ago snowing moderately now sticking to all surfaces most guidance had 2 p.m. start time so it has arrived earlier which often happens in these type of events

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I got caught with my pants down on this one. I was in Sarasota, Florida this time yesterday. Got in late last night.

I briefly checked the board here before going to bed and saw 3-6 for my area, with a start time around 2.

So I slept in and didn't head out to the grocery store until 1030 this morning. When I left it was perfectly clear, but by the time I returned all major roads were completely covered (around 11:30). It's currently 18 degrees IMBY. There was no salting done whatsoever up here for some unknown reason.

Oh well, I got my beer and a nice salmon to cook up for dinner tonight. I'm supposed to be going to a work party in West Caldwell at 6pm tonight. Somehow don't think that's happening...

About 1 inch on the ground so far. Any snow is good snow

The appetizer was nice. Picked up almost a quick inch of high ratio snow

Snow started about 45 minutes ago here in Albany and it’s 17* here. It didn’t take long for the snow to stick into the pavement.

Hole fill UK ng in pretty quickly in CNJ may have just a brief lull before the main attraction. This is just the first band.

As I said these ALWAYS start earlier that forecasted and end earlier too.

Brief lull here. Cloudy 23*. Was expected. Radar indicates snow should fill in here again in about a half-hour or so.

Was that it? Don't see much moisture on the radar, most of it looks off coast now.

On future radar map, looks solid at least 3 hours snow even before change over. Lets see how true it holds. Picking up the intensity moderate to heavy snow.

.75" from first round. Was out in it when it first started, coming down pretty heavy like a squall. Lots of car accidents in the first half hour, no salt trucks out. Mugsy, St. Nicholas was a challenge when I left Shop Rite, they closed the hill going down to Broadway because cars couldn't stop at the bottom. Now waiting for main event! 24° and dropping.

Snow has resumed here. Moderate snow 25*. Streets snow covered again. Should snow here for the next few hours based on current radar.

Round 2 kicking off here down at the Shore. Hope to top at least an inch. Any snow is good snow.

20 with moderate snow, 1 inch so far.

22.5/20 Moderate snow.  Just about 2" in the books.  Turning out about what i expected.

850's giving way now past Mason Dixon Line.  Warm air will most likely taint me.

20.8° and holding for the last hour.

Back to moderate /light snow 1.6 inches total so far.
