Nice steady moderate snow here. Holding at 25* (a few degrees colder than forecast I might note). Just over an inch so far, will need a heavier band or two this evening to break 3” I think. But landscape and roads are a solid white so I’ll take it.

Interesting observation. Winds have shifted at my house from the South to the NE... extend the cold air drainage?

Strange...r/s line just seemed to jump all the way up just now. Must have been waiting for me to get excited first before it made its move...ha ha
And now it seems to jumped back down to AC. Idk...still snowing lightly at exit 80, still got 1/2” on the ground.

24.4/23.2
Sleet/snow mix. just measured 2.5" Definitely warm tongue in the column. My guess is around 800mb. Not too shocking. WAA always finds a layer that it can compromise.
850's -3. 925's -7.

~1.5" OTG at this time.
Snow moderately now.
Beautiful scene one that make winter feel like it.
This time last weekend I had shorts and a tshirt on.

Snowing. About 2 inches so far. So sad to say this is our biggest storm here yet. It's 32 so it's 28 though car says 32. That's a big discrepancy by car or nearby reporting station. But closing in on a possible changeover .

Changeover is happening for the coast. 1-3” was the right call there. Areas N&W may struggle to get to 5-6” due to lackluster snow growth. But still a lot of precip on the radar. Tonight’s dinner is spinach manicotti and a very thick steak going on a cast iron with shallots, butter, rosemary and garlic

Nobody is getting 5 or 6. I think between 3 and 4 is max even up here. Dinner looks awesome BTW.

Re: January 18th Storm Observations & Snowfall Amounts
Final total 2.5"
28.2. Precip is now freezing rain which is good to preserve the snow for a few days.
Very difficult to get significant snow (>5") out of something like this unless there is a ton of moisture thrown at you early. What winds up occurring is your column gets so poor to support snow that the ratios become very poor or you just taint. Either way it won't add up quickly the later it gets...
