March 2020 Observations and Discussion

Rain/Snow line hasn’t moved much at all last hour and a half. Janet’s report of the temp dropping makes sense as it appears some colder air is working in as the system strengthens as I went to rain then back to a mix.

30.6° moderate snow, grass getting white and nothing on the roads and driveway.

With everything going on right now this is a nice diversion.

A polite half inch to pinch so far. Has dropped a bit to 29.

Umm its snowing?!!! LOL Hey guys I know I have been MIA, I had to have surgery for my kidney stone but they finally got it out, I had a stent placed and they are removing it today. I was in a good amount of pain and with the abismal weather and no COVID I really didn't feel like talking to anyone, no offense. Just saying hi letting you all know I am alive. Well as I look now its no longer snowing lol, not that it matters, can't go outside anyways.

Snow ended, looks like .5 inch.

It is still snowing here. It has been melting almost as fast as it comes down. Still steady at a half inch. It slowed a bit, now picking up. The snow has been a gentle snow, with tiny flakes. Nothing on the driveway or road but everything else, yes. Covered. Pretty.

It sleeted in Bloomfield around 8am and another burst of sleet around 11am.

I'd call it the last hurrah, but it's more like the last blah blah blah. Bring on the daffodils!!!

Really heavy snow big flakes

Actually had snow flakes about 15 minutes ago.

Had snow and sleet and mix with rain all day so far with temps hovering at 34/35*.
Nice coating on mulch and some patchy areas this morning. Freind in West Milford said on the mountain where he lives about 1", nothing on roads.

Well had about 1/2 inch of snow on the ground in Stillwater Nj at 1190 feet altitude this morning, now just sleet mixed with rain,


Temperature holding at 33 Degrees! Wood burning stove going in the pool house , Pellet Stove cranking in the basement!
Cars and tress covered with 1/4 inch of ice, glad I have a generator! Heading to the Liquor Store to get more Beer, Lots More Beer !

Same here as mugs and I are only about 2 miles apart, but I also got .39" of rain. What a miserable day! Every time I look outside it's doing something else! Sometimes big fat snowflakes, then sleet, then pouring rain, then a lull, then repeat.

Jman, hope you're feeling better soon and I hope everyone else is managing this madness ok.

Had some heavy snow move in about an hour ago and temp dropped from 32.6 to 31.4. It actually began to stick to roads and cover driveway.

Peak depth so far today is 1.3 inches but in areas that would be exposed to sun that begins to compress and melt when precip lightens.

Back to 32.4° with a light mix.

It has stopped snowing. Now it is sleet. Temp is 35

From my apartment earlier this evening:



Just over 5” here in Albany. ALB at 5.5 as of 8 PM bringing its seasonal snow total to 48.1”.

Ended up with 1" of rain on this cold dreary day....

It is hard to say here-maybe two inches but it was melting fast then the slush came for a few hours. It became like mush. Still nice to see

Keep an eye on early April for a coastal - saying April 6thish time frame still plus or minus 2/3 days.
2nd half of April we warm as teh SE Ridge and the warm Hotlantic waters take over and looks to be a muggy and warm summer with a late (midish August onward) active tropical season (above normal) as I am seeing things now - just my .02.
