JAN 26th Light Snowfall

NWS basically mostly concerned with ice on this one now. This is a non event according to them w.r.t. snow and this now looks about right to me.

It's the old adage for snow follow the ULL.

The 18z NAM has several hours of light snow falling over NNJ and N&W of NYC. Snow changes to a mix then plain rain for NYC and the coast. Likely looking at a coating to 1" for the coast and 1-3" N&W, with some spots approaching 5 inches depending on the rate of precip. Some models are bullish with showing higher snow rates.

Winter Weather Advisory for Sussex, Warren, Morris from 7 am tomorrow to 4 am Wednesday.

WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations around one inch and ice accumulations of one tenth to two tenths of an inch.

EURO!!! Came a bit south like teh GFS did at 18Z - they are somewhat lock in step except euro is colder where teh GFS bring more sleet/icy mix

How far the the mid level warming gets (around 800 mb) will be critical. It does look wetter (qpf) in recent model runs. The slightest further south deviation of the ULL and straddling I78 can see 2-4" from this. Not sold on that idea yet but just maybe the blocking holds it down just a bit more than modeled. Surface is not going to be the issue for NW of 95.

North of 80 should be ok with thermals.

The 0Z RGEM suggests several inches of snow up here in Albany from this system tomorrow:

30* and Cloudy. A couple degrees warmer than my forecast low. Radar looks paltry with more mix than snow, so not an auspicious start to this one. We’ll see how the day evolves.

NWS not too enthused. < 1" for most and 1-2" for the northern folks. Kinda blah if that's how it pans out, but of course that was the expectation for the last 2 days. It is what it is...

Nothing going on 34* Iowa were my inlaws are from 10-12 inches Freaking snowing on the strip in Vegas and nothing here   winds are calm thats the glass half empty look at least glass half full..good book waiting to be read..hope everyone stays safe!

27 and keeping expectations low.
Two inches expected although some short range models still saying 4 inches. That’s about my max expectations for this.

good luck..it sure smells and feels like snow this morning...

23 degrees as of 9:15 am. Slight flurries. Let’s add to the 13 inches so far as per the Keeper of Winter (not me but I want to be)

Light snow started here in Mount Vernon 31ﾟ

Started sleeting at 11:15 in Stillwater NJ at 1190 feet altitude, now snowing heavy , road covered , Temperature 27 degrees.

Light snow started here at 10:45 AM.28 degrees, coatings on deck and roof.

Rain just turned to sleet in New Hope. 34*
