Somehow I think WU is wrong about tomorrow's weather though...
"Tomorrow's temperature is forecast to be NEARLY THE SAME as today."
Yeah, they're probably going to have to fix that. Try 20* colder. lol

You can tell the Cold Front has arrived as the winds are gusty now and the temp has dropped 3 degrees here in the past hour or so.

Wasn't it nice today? No wind and with the sun, it felt like Florida weather. Always nice to have a gift like today.

Re: February 2021 Observations and Discussions
Snowpack was 16 inches at the end of day yesterday, down to an even 12 inches at the end of the day today. I could only guess but I assume the LE is 3-4 inches in that pack, which once it freezes up again the next couple of days should make it very sun resistant.
Hoping to add 6-12 Thursday & Friday and have a snowpack through at least mid March or hopefully longer.
We shall see.

Re: February 2021 Observations and Discussions
I am seeing winds now about 20 mph - sometimes less, but fairly consistent. Temp is 30 degrees. I just saw Frank's snow map "for the next one". CP, you will get your wish. It looks like a nice amount of snow will add to the pack. And now, a word about roofs. When I first came up here 22 years ago, I was puzzled by ice guard on a roof. I thought felt paper was good. Now I know why. A roof can have snow from Dec to March no problem. Snow does present challenges "up here".

I have about the same snow pack as CP except over the septic tank i can see green grass. I would expect that. It is a reminder to me that all snow ends.

Well over 1' of snow OTG even in areas that is more exposed to direct sunlight. About .1" ice sheet over it now.
Light snow. 26.2/26.2. Complete wet bulb. Expecting 1" or so today. Hopefully a bit more.

Re: February 2021 Observations and Discussions
22° with moderate snow, about 2 new inches since midnight already surpassing yesterdays totals here.
The February that keeps giving. Today is the 33rd day with snow cover here, and 23rd consecutive day with snow cover and 19th straight day with snow cover of a foot or more.
The minimum I ask of a winter is 30 consecutive days of snow cover and 50 days or more during the season and it looks like this winter may deliver that.

I am leaving for Florida tonight and won't return until the following Sunday. Keys to the kingdom will be left with @sroc4
I'm thinking 1-3" of snow is possible on Monday, mostly N&W of NYC. A potentially larger storm looms around one week from today.
If you thought we're done with the snow - guess again!

I have two friends leaving for Florida tomorrow AM. I wish for great weather down there for all of you. By great weather, I mean great "Florida weather" which is Sunny and 80s as opposed to great "New Jersey/New York weather" which is 20 degrees with a driving, blinding Snow.

I'm leaving Wednesday for Florida, so this snow is really making me look forward to nice warm weather. I got another 1.5" today. Roads have been clear but I'm afraid everything is going to ice up tonight.

Re: February 2021 Observations and Discussions
A really cool winter morning- 29*, a slight wind, and about 3" of snow on the ground. Even the birds and squirrels seem chill out there.
The top layer is 1.5-2" of fine powdery snow compliments of last nights awesome surprise (total 1/31-2/2 redux in my opinion) and a very compressed 1" of sleet packed snow beneath that.
Definitely should have fast-track conditions on our little speed ramp today...
And the beat goes on for this Ferocious February...

Snow squall coming through now. Lots of open fields in my backyard and blowing snow pushed onto the roads. Looks wintry!

GFS advertising low 40's at best now for the warm up period midweek. You have to understand that we have a dense cold pool hanging overhead and with a solid deep snowpack yuo need a WAR/SE Ridge to pump to get 50's - maybe in SNJ but not so much NNJ - there is resistance to this at this time of year.

Re: February 2021 Observations and Discussions
17 inches otg right now and I could only guess, because I'm to lazy to actual melt it down, but I would say at this point the LE is 3-4 inches. This is the same as having 3-4 feet of snow otg for melting purposes. We will have snow cover here until mid March if it doesn't snow again, but I would hope it does, at least a couple of more times.
