It’s been snowing moderately down here for the past 2 hours, closing in on an inch on the grass and cold surfaces and most roads are coated.

Everyone down here is in a straight panic. Live news coverage all night, stores closing, people calling out of work. I think we might get to that 3-4” inch mark here tonight. News reports warning people they might want to wait a few days (yes, DAYS! ) before hitting the roads again. You can get an idea of how the stickage and snowfall rate is going down here in Dixie. Or it might just look like a blurry swirl to you all. Not sure. Either way, 27* and snowing moderately in northeast North Carolina.

@ Rb my man great discussion and look fwd to more. Absolute truth you nailed what was to come. Fast flow and a few tweaks to the details would have done wonders. I always say we are a hair away from a NESIS most of the time.

Dixie is getting pummeled. Forget about the fact that most locations will only accumulate an inch or so, and forget that it shoulda been Jersey getting this, and just look at this. Snow from Macon to Rehoboth! Snows till 2-3 am from border to border in both Carolinas, Virginia’s beach towns. Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and the entire Delmarva Peninsula! Absolutely amazing!

Just as amazing, but in no way trying to be blithely excited by this, is the sleet/frozen rain/ice storm that appears to be hitting the coastal Carolinas. If it’s as bad as the radar is depicting, that’s likely to have absolutely devastating consequences, especially in such an area so I’ll equipped and inexperienced with respect to winter weather.

A hair I mean like 2-4 hours between a full-page and moderate to bigger than storm than what is on the maps. Could be HH GFS atbplay but getting closer. Two circles and areows depict the two pieces of energy and their track.

Nothing could be finer than to freeze your tail off in Carolina...in the morning! A frosty 21* with a single digit wind chill temps and what looks to me be 3-4" on the ground. They're trying to call 5", but I'm not seeing that, at least not here at the hotel. The snow was pretty intense for most of the night, but very tiny flakes.

Very nice and a bit of fun, too! But even this morning, the folk down here are saying they'll leave their house again on like Tuesday. ha ha   poor guys!

For those who love the cold, the western perimeter is checking in at -14*. 3 or 4 days ago, it had almost hit 50. I wonder how far south you have to go before people struggle to even imagine not only how unbelievably cold -14* is, but also just how radical a 64 degree swing.

Only got to -2 so a little disappointed.
Parts of northern Orange County by Middletown and Damian’s neck of the woods down to -13. Amazing 20 miles made that much of a difference. Snow pack depth is similar.

A balmy 11 degrees.Bright sun and calm winds.NWS downplaying the 25th to minor if any precip but says a warm up on Tuesday to near 40.Break out the beach chairs,lol.Back in the ice box after that.Again, cold and dry.

12 degrees this morning for a low..right now 28 and it feels like a spring day...lol

ALB got down to -5 this morning, although some of the surrounding locations got down to the -10 to -15 range

Tuesday Wed not happening but lighter snows today and tomorrow from 2 clipper systems

No epic storm today like 6 years ago, but there'll be snow showers intermittently this afternoon/evening which could produce minor accumulations, generally a coating to 1" along and north of I-78 in PA/NJ. Latest NAM runs don’t show much at all but areas may get coated with snow tomorrow night into Tuesday

Light snow. 30.5/24 Need 1/4" for double digit seasonal total. Might be possible.

Moderate snow 1/4" new OTG. Yay got my double digits in the bank.

Light snow 27.5/27.2 about 1/2" new snow OTG.

28 degrees.Had a snow shower from 4:50 to 5:15 with a dusting of snow.

30* with light snow falling. Presently a coating on most surfaces.

Where did this snow come from? I would not have known if my daughter didn't tell me, light/moderate snow and everything coated.

Who cares if it's not a lot tjisnpattern and our luck has been awful SO FAR! This is a nice surprise for sure. Harbinger of good things to come??
