Mugs from Hillsdale NE NJ reporting at 7:25.

By eye I'm seeing 6" easily.

No school as I told many we would have.

Still.snowing moderately here.

HRRR showing another 1-+1.5 by through the morning.

4.0 inches on the nose as of 8:20.

25° and snowing lightly. Probably about done here accumulation wise. Low as compared to others but this wasn't really a storm for us northern folk so I'm satisfied.

Doc Monroe trained spotter had 3.0 as of 6:30 so I'd guess you'll end up close to 4 too.

Models did very well with this system I believe It busted high because of the high ratios which are very tricky to figure out. Most ratios will end up between 15 and 20 to 1 Nice storm to get our Winter started

CP, looks like 4 here to me as well.We were lucky to get this, the storm was favored to dump heavy snow south and east of us and NWS only had us for 1 to 3.Very happy with the result.Looks to stay for a while with the colder temps.

Measured 4.5" here. I was a little late getting out to measure and the sun was out so if you told me the total before the clouds broke around 8 a.m. and some top layer melting began was closer to 5" I wouldn't be surprised. But for a projected 3-5" storm, this one delivered perfectly in my area.

When you look at the liquid equivalent that fell, roughly 0.25 to 0.35, and compare with the snow amounts, pretty cool to see ratios near 20:1 in some places. The high ratio snows are not very common around here because of the ocean. Overall, a 3-6” storm and some areas cashing in on 7-8” where stronger bands persisted. Considering the abysmal December we had it’s nice to start the New Year with a snowstorm. More oppo looms in the medium to long range too

Hey ended up like most on LI at 8". I do think that ratios out by me, esp at the onset where not nearly as profound as they seem to have been to the west. When shoveling this am I had a def layer of heavy wet snow at the bottom of the pack making me think that at the start I was at or even just below 10:1 and then quickly hovered between 10:1-12:1 throughout most of the event. Still was absolutely wonderful seeing the snow fall at around 6-7ish at rates of approx 1+" an hr. Im so glad it appears between the Monday system and today the vast majority of our coverage area should be pretty happy. Def a wonderful way to kick off the season.

Trained spotter in Yonkers recorded 6.8 inches.

From now on we take Jmans measurements and double them. Problem solved.
