Godzilla 2022 JAN 28th-29th Observations

Just took a walk on the beach. Couldn’t stay too long out there with how bad it was whipping. But here’s a nice drift at the end of the path on my street.

Not sure what they have warnings till 7pm when it is going to end 10 hrs earlier than that, they just said by 9am nyc and east will be only places snowing.

Just measured 5 inches even here, so about ten on the ground.
So only 1.5 inches in the last three and a half hours. Still moderate snow and 9 degrees. We make 6 im good with this storm.

I am with you CP . For us NW guys, 6 in is a gift with this one.

I knew I should have booked a room at mohegan sun in new london county CT, they are under that 35dbz band for hours, would been wild. anyone heard from mike and his experiencing in beantown? they getting pummeled too

Radar seems to be filling in more to the west.

what do you mean that 35 dbz band is way far east of NYC, you mean LI? Or u mean the moderate band that is kinda south to north over NYC? I am getting it too i think, hard tell on radar, i need a better one that shows the bands more clearly.

Atlantic Highlands,  temp 22, still snowing lightly but coming down at a decent rate, tried to find the flattest spot I could to measure, lots of drifts

I hope ur right the futurecast models and on news show ending by 9, but ya thats not happening.

Talking about a blizzard, Falmouth on the Cape, wind 41 with gust to 60. Mod to heavy snow!

OK, CP, thank you for the update.Snow increased a bit in intensity, light to moderate now.6 inches would be a major victory up here when we were going to be shut off completely according to some models a few days ago.
Enjoying the snowing and blowing show. Completely quiet out there, very little traffic.

Barnegat. Snow intensity reduced. Local whiteouts continues due to strong winds. Will measure soon estimating 15”.

That looks like the most accurate measurement I could get. Doesn't look too wind blow. Right at 18". From Barnegat,NJ down the road from Barnegat Bay.

12 degrees with steady light snow in west Milford.
Eyeballing about 5”-6”

Back home in upper bucks. Wife tells me about 5 inches after the two during day. 7” so far probably another inch to go. Met expectations for 6-10.

Nice! Very similar look where I’m at. I may close to 18”.

at least 15 inches in oceanport, NJ and snowing at 1-3 inches an hour!!!

I thought we would get about a foot here. Looks like we did a bit better. I could see 20” when done. It shows snow until 130-200pm

Mod wind driven snow I am guessing I have 6 to 8 inches but it is so hard to measure with all the snow drifts

About 4-5" and blowing drifting snow at 14*

I did some measurements I would say the low end of that, maybe even 5.
