Nice storm! Ended up with about 7 or 8 inches in H’boro! Also mighty cold and windy. Thank you all for your updates and analysis. Pretty much on par with maps.

The 18" ruler was just enough, winding down now.

It stopped snowing here around 11:30 am.  There is honestly no way to measure here, but looking at reports from nearby towns, I’m going to go with 5”.  That looks about right.

So that’s 5.75” if I include what fell yesterday.

The wind is absolutely howling here.  17°F

Just some anecdotal info from a 42yr old…much colder than our typical winter storms…makes me wonder if the models struggled with the atypical storm climate as well as the complex phasing issues. I am not going to lie…I went to bed thinking this thing was going to hang a hard right and head out to sea. I am super impressed with the skill many of you have!!

A surprising 9 inches from this storm. Okay not that surprising RB said it could happen here. And 13 inches on the ground. A perfect winter day. Congratulations to all the 12+ people on LI and the Jersey Shore. And a special F U to all the people in Massachusetts setting records. Except of course our beloved Taffy.

Final measurement for me and mugs, 5" from this. Nice and pretty without too much work!

Picked up 13.0 inches in Ocean Township (Monmouth Couty, NJ)

Ended up with 9 inches of snow I wanted more but it was a great storm and u guys definitely nailed this down thank you for all ur hard work u done

Your right, CP, that band just missed me.Trained spotter in Monroe logged 5.5 inches so going with that.Almost a foot on the ground plus we have 5 inches of solid concrete below.That will enable us to survive the snowpack attack coming later this week when temps torch and it rains.

DEER PARK ENDED UP WITH 19.5 INCHES. NOT BAD, but just couldn't squeeze 20 inches. Nice drifts though!!

hard to measure we had drifts of 3 feet..got a measurement on side of house of 14 inches will wait for official reading...but thank goodness the wind slowed while we were shoveling...now it is bitterly cold 18* winds at 20mph....need a hot toddy..

20.0” according to a spotter in my town.

So that heavy 30+ dbz snowband earlier today that went though Beantown missed me by 30 miles.  The past couple of hours, however, it's really picked up here.  Here is the radar image from the local news:



I'm in Milford, MA as shown on this radar.  If this keeps up for the next few hours, then perhaps I can get close to 20" here.

Very disappointing storm for me. Only 2 inches. Half of even the lowest predictions. So far a very disappointing winter. So tough knowing how close we were to real now storm. 2 inches I can get from a clipper.

It turns out that band didnt last much longer after that. Additionally, I went and took a measurement, which was tough not only because of blowing and drifting, but also the plowing that was done. But I measured 16" from this event here in Milford, MA. Looking at the NWS Taunton page, it's pretty close to what surrounding locations got.

We may not be seeing that so called Torch Doc. As Mugs pointed out earlier and Frank & RB too things are trending colder for mid late week. Not sure about that storm yet, seems like several scenarios are at play. Rain, ice, snow? Very complex setup. I do like those setups for our area though, as long as the models don't shove this to far south we might be in a good spot. Several days away though so this too shall change. Even this mornings GFS has it colder but still liquid for most of the forum.

Ended up with about 5-7” too difficult to get a good accurate measurement. Fascinating storm to watch unfold- great job by all for your forecasts, maps, and insightful analysis!!! Already looking for the next one!

Final Snowfall totals.

NYC Central park 8.3 inch is suspect as are a couple of others so far this winter, 10 was more likely the figure according to people I've been in touch with around the Park. It appears that after righting the ship for the most part, the past 4-5 years they are dropping the ball again. LGA 10.5 and JFK 12.6, seem about right. Islip on LI 24.7 inches.

CP , I wouldn’t be so harsh on the CP snow measurement. If you look at the axis of the edge of the heavier snow it runs SW to NE . They tamper looking at the totals in NJ ,and totals in Queens and Brooklyn, looks like Central Park is not unusual

Excuse my typos. The totals from Newark and right along the river Going NE from Newark in NJ are similar to Central Park

I was on the low end of the ruler up here. Glad others got the white gold. 6 degrees this morning. 10 mph winds. Man, that wind was making it feel cold yesterday while snow cleaning

Trust me on this one Bob, I'm not saying the errors were egregious just off.

Let's first start with the basics, the Park reported 1.2 inches of snow on the 28th and 7.3 inches on the 29th which equals 8.5 for the storm. Simple math right? Yet they recorded 8.3 inches as a storm total. It was at least 9-10. If they can't even add 1+1 I don't trust they can stick a ruler on a snowboard and record amounts, a lot of times they don't. Years and years of experience with them has taught me this. The Conservancy helped for awhile but I'm not sure who's recording totals there this year.
