Re: September 2022 Observations and Discussions
Great down pour here from about 7:10 until 7:25ish, closed the underpass to the train tracks cause of flooding, which means nothing since any downpour closes that area. BUT it caused all kinds of traffic problems making over 1/4 of the 1400 students late!!
Next round this afternoon!! That when the cold air comes crashing in woop wooop!
BRING IT BABY!!

Just had a round of heavy showers roll through. Looks like at least a couple more hours of off-and-on showers before it should start to clear out late afternoon.

Woke up to thunder and lightning and a downpour around 6:30 am. Then the sun came out for a little while, but it’s been raining most of the day so far.

47 Fall like degrees and clear.Winds have calmed down from last evening.Wonderful week of 40's-60's in store.Looks like the 80's may be gone save for a few in October or November when Indian, er, I mean,Indigenous Peoples's Summer makes it's obligatory return.

Maybe tomorrow morning upstate peeps may see some patchy frost.
49* here for my low, last time was May.
One of the shorter timeframe between 40's that I can remember

Same here.Did a boiler test yesterday morning, temp was 40.
Gorgeous day yesterday, wife and I had dinner outside up in Warwick.Noticing more color on the trees up here.40's-60's is such a great temp spread for the day.
Rain coming in later today, tonight and tomorrow but a great stretch after that.

Re: September 2022 Observations and Discussions
I totally understand that oil is super expensive and when you own a house you have to conserve. This is one thing I like about a apartment building where it is included. I bet they wish they didn't put that in the leases now. Heat was on yesterday morning per my wife I was out, was chilly. Nice day though. The heat here is steam heat and honestly it gets too hot and since the radiators are under windows (what genious thought that up?) it causes major condensation and mold to form unless you are constantly cleaning the paint around the windows like 5x a day. Anyone know if there is something that can prevent this? Also love when it gets so cold that icicles start to form inside from the moisture.

49 degrees, cloudy calm.
J Man, I had a steam system for 35 years in my home in Mahwah.Best system ever IMO as those radiators stay warm for 1/2 hour after the boiler shuts down.
Do you notice steam rising from the valve on the radiator up onto the window? if so, another valve that reduces the steam flow could stop that. The landlord could do that.Other than that, keep the curtains or blinds down overnight.
Yep, your landlord will not be happy with the energy bill, lol. The old statement "so you want to be a landlord"? comes to mind. Not for me,lol.
