Was in Tampa Bay with my son who was fortunate and blessed to have been able to call both Frozen Four NCAA D1 Men's Hockey Games for Natoinal Champion Quinnipiac at Amalie Arena. Title game was intense and remarkable, his call was dramatic on the radio, so proud of him.
Tampa was 90* and gorgeous weather. Bringing some of that warmth home with me for this week LOL!!
30* for my low overnight!

Unbelievable game Mugs. I went to Quinnipiac back from 95-99' before transferring to Stony Brook to finish my undergrad. Was so excited for them. Any chance you have a link to your son's call? Id love to gear it.

HOLY SMOKES that's right you told me that - you should have made the trip Scott!! That would have been amazing. It was incredible and so MANY alumni flew in for the game Saturday of course - 2 hour pregame at the Amalie Cigar Pub, then a 2.5 hours open bar at the Westin Hotel where the team was staying after the game. Surreal!
SROC here is the call - game winner radio:
MHOK: Relive the final moments of Jacob Quillan's overtime goal for @QU_MIH to win Quinnipiac's first national championship in school history. Broadcasted by @mugnoma and @ericzank31.#MFrozenFour | #NCAAHockey pic.twitter.com/5JGNdKLOVq
— Quinnipiac Bobcats Sports Network (@QBSN) April 9, 2023
With his buddies he nicknamed the Sherbrook Boys - both boys hail from Sherbrook Quebec and played hockey together since they were 5 years old - best freinds. Matt in his suit after the game with the trophy - that is cool.

The Creme de la creme - he videotaped his OT call just as a hunch - and the hunch paid off handsomely:

Omg Mugs! Incredible call. Gave me goose bumps. When I was a freshman soccer player I lived on the floor in the Commons with like 10 of the freshman hockey players back in 95. I became close friends with many of them. Between 10 hockey players and like 5 freshman soccer players and a few others sprinkled in our floor was mayhem. Our RA didn’t have a chance. Lolol. I have a special connection with Quinnipiac hockey. Listen to that call brought me back to those days and some really fond memories with those guys. Great stuff! Tell your son he should be proud.
Have Mercy!!! Lol

Looks like there is a pretty bad fire down in Ocean County.
Hope the folks down there are out of harms way.

LOL. I think I'm featured in that ad! Yes, my Spring allergies are always bad and they have now officially kicked off this year in earnest. The nasal sprays do a pretty good job of mitigating the symptoms, but nothing works fully.

I notice the leaf canopy is pretty much out up here and while I am no pro nor do I measure scientifically, I esitimate the leaf canopy is close to three weeks earlier than it should be. So leaves are out sooner than I would have expected. Ditto for the hostas, campanulas, and so on. I usually do not see this stuff peeking out until mid-May.
My iPhone says cloudy for tomorrow but NWS says up to an inch of raind by late afternoon tomorrow into the evening with 100% chance of rain. Somebody messed up the data stream.

Been warning all the winter haters of this exact thing. Everyone was so happy about the warm winter. I said from the start, well when this pattern breaks and we go into a colder pattern it will be spring and instead of 70 it will be in the 40's and 50's. Now we are seeing it lol

Same struggle here. Once I turn the heat off for the season, I hate putting it back on (which is ridiculous since all I'm doing is flipping a switch -- but its psychological for me). Luckily with my allergies I've been keeping my windows shut for the last couple weeks to keep the pollen out so that has allowed me to hold the heat inside for the most part. Hopefully when the weather turns warmer, we'll be past pollen season and I can get some fresh air back in the place.
