Definitely a bit more snow coverage in eastern CA now, but it's still below normal depths in most areas. In many of these areas in central Quebec and Labrador November is the biggest monthly snowfall. I don't see much here in November if any which of course is normal, but it would be nice if the area could see snow OTG for Christmas. It's been 14 years in Central Park and that's getting into longest span territory for NYC. I think the record is actually 17 years 1966-1983.

I feel good though about not being single digit snowfall IMBY this season. 2 occurrences in 4 years is incredible.

The low was 33 here. I see this weekend, things drop. My pov is the leaves here came down fast, and way early. Some two weeks early I should think. I should be doing leaves for the next two weeks at least, maybe another week, and once in a while a week after that for the big oak tree. I have been done since end of Oct. I have to go around this weekend to tidy up the oak leaves which that tree's leaves are almost dropped.

I agree with Damian's observation, at least near me. In a totally non-scientific sense I noticed a couple weeks ago that many trees seemed bare, sooner than they had in recent Octobers. Some still have leaves now, but it did seem to be a slightly accelerated leaf fall this season to my eye.

7:07 in the am 25 degrees, heavy frost, most leaves are down except the oaks are Still holding, once we get some moisture to line up with the cold temperatures we will be off and running!

12z GFS brings the tropical system up the coast by weekend, very close swipe into main and canada. Wont be tropical of course but still a big system and another around thanksgiving possible.

The EPO crashes Negative and everything downstream responds.
It pumps a ridge in the West Coast.
Forces tye jet yo dive south and deep south almost to GOM at this time.
Atrough builds in over Eastern Portion of USA.
Cold drills in and next two weeks are going to be winterish temps wise with the possibilities of white gold interior and maybe to the Northern Piedmont of NJ and upper LHV (aka Noryh Westchester). Flurries into the city region? Could happen.
This is all in response to the MJO being in phase 1. Said this week's ago in LR thread.

I am learning about the pieces that make weather but for me simple is best. I start with cold weather. If it is cold enough that’s one thing out of the way. So much depends on cold air. Like gas for a car. Can’t go anywhere without gas in the tank. We need cold air to come and stay. If you wish this, The Petroleum Institute will thank you.

Model Blend - about 1/2" of rain - if it were snow we'd go from Godzilla to almost nill tow days ago to a Monthra - buckle up peeps is ALL I can say!!! The amount of coastals we are seeing are going to be wild this D -M period as the STJ flexes from the peaking Nino. Great sign.
