What does that mean in practice? How will that change what I see from Mt. Holly’s forecast information, for example.rb924119 wrote:I got a text from my buddy who has it on good authority that apparently starting next Spring, all NWS WFOs will no longer have jurisdiction over their grids beyond Day 3. I have no idea why they are doing this, but I think it’s a really, really bad idea.

This is factual. WPC will be controlling national grids beyond day 3 starting in the spring.rb924119 wrote:I got a text from my buddy who has it on good authority that apparently starting next Spring, all NWS WFOs will no longer have jurisdiction over their grids beyond Day 3. It’s not going to change what you see necessarily, but I think that it’s going to have a tremendously negative impact on overall forecast accuracy/quality.

I've been a few times, not sure if I'm going this year, not thrilled with the topics. But if anyone is going, let me know, I may go just to hang out! lol

dkodgis wrote:I worked for two hours a day for four days outside last week in the heat. I changed an alternator and radiator over that time in the sun, on the driveway. I lost 7 lbs. i was successful. My regimen: only an expresso in the early am so as to not heat up with cups of coffee. Lots of cold water. No beer. Yes to the rock and roll. My 316000 miles on the 2009 Sonata? I laugh at them. It felt good to grease and be able to still do it at 70. I applaud everyone who works outside in the sun in this heat
Wow, 316,000 miles!
Japanese car makers blew the doors off US automakers back in the mid 70's with the gas crisis.US made junk back then, rust after 50,000 miles etc.My wife had bought a Camaro back in the day and at 50,000 miles the camshaft blew out. From talking to my patients in my dental practice. too many people were screwed by us made cars, bought Japanese and never went back.
I still do some minor work, change air filters and cabin filters, burnt bulbs.Today you need to be a computer technician,LOL.Far from the days when you could buy a "blister pack" of sparkplugs and points to do a "tune up" on your car.
Hopefully some relief from this oppressive heat later this week.
