What might be cheerful is there has been a Doc sighting in Monroe by the lake. After several attempts to get photographic evidence, I have succeeded getting a picture of Doc sitting by the lake. It took some doing but the trail cam came through.

Looks like hot weather mid next week. While I feel bad for those who have to work in it, my pool awaits me.

I got a text from my buddy who has it on good authority that apparently starting next Spring, all NWS WFOs will no longer have jurisdiction over their grids beyond Day 3. I have no idea why they are doing this, but I think it’s a really, really bad idea.

I know I look serious. Probably thinking about my two kids in university at the same time. What I want to highlight is my butterfly bushes are 7 ft tall! Doc’s met me. He can vouch for me when I say I am 6’5” (and pleasantly plump). The bushes are taller than I am!

What does that mean in practice? How will that change what I see from Mt. Holly’s forecast information, for example.

This is factual. WPC will be controlling national grids beyond day 3 starting in the spring.

It’s not going to change what you see necessarily, but I think that it’s going to have a tremendously negative impact on overall forecast accuracy/quality.

This is a hot and humid summer for sure.I've had it as well, 74 days to go with the days getting shorter.Would love a stretch of 50's to low 70's dry days right now.

Can't wait to go to my girlfriend's dad's birthday next week. She's been in Ohio and they've have a bunch of mid to high 70s days and some days this week are going into the low 50s at night. Next week looks good as well.

I worked for two hours a day for four days outside last week in the heat. I changed an alternator and radiator over that time in the sun, on the driveway. I lost 7 lbs. i was successful. My regimen: only an expresso in the early am so as to not heat up with cups of coffee. Lots of cold water. No beer. Yes to the rock and roll. My 316000 miles on the 2009 Sonata? I laugh at them.  It felt good to grease and be able to still do it at 70. I applaud everyone who works outside in the sun in this heat

Wow, 316,000 miles!
Japanese car makers blew the doors off US automakers back in the mid 70's with the gas crisis.US made junk back then, rust after 50,000 miles etc.My wife had bought a Camaro back in the day and at 50,000 miles the camshaft blew out. From talking to my patients in my dental practice. too many people were screwed by us made cars, bought Japanese and never went back.
I still do some minor work, change air filters and cabin filters, burnt bulbs.Today you need to be a computer technician,LOL.Far from the days when you could buy a "blister pack" of sparkplugs and points to do a "tune up" on your car.
Hopefully some relief from this oppressive heat later this week.

Hey Scott hope all is well?! Thank you for the tips..I did speak to the vet and she suggested the meds..I already give that to my Schipperke when we go on longer car rides..he is so loopy for 24 hours and I have cut the pill down..lol I hate to drug either one of them..I do put on music, but never thought about a room with no windows..we can sit in my closet (no basement we live on the water 😊)  and listen to Alexa ..I will look into the ear muffs..I thought about the thunder vest, but she hates to have on clothes to my dismay being a tiny cute thing, so I nixed that and found the weighted blanket.. will keep you posted..thank you again.Banter Thread 9.0 - Page 12 Img_2136
