Fluffier snow here along I-78 than expected last night. Temps dipped just enough for a decent snow at 31. I wish to retract my prediction of Ice Cement last night.

Yuip, it is clearly visible outside, kinda disappointing so far (2.5 so far, I mean is 6 too much to ask for?), I do not see many people reporting such low amounts as here so far, it is what it is I guess.

subsidence confirmed Frank…barely snowing in Mercer County. About 3/4 inch on the ground so far.

Just did my official 3-spot measurement. We are at 6" of Snow here with moderate to heavy snow still falling.
Assuming another 3-4 hours of snow here, with heavy intensity of 1+" per hour for the next couple hours then diminishing intensity, before ending early this afternoon, I would expect to end up with 8-9" here.
So I'd expect atm the forecasts of 5-9 or 4-8" will verify at the high end for my backyard. If there is any delay in the storm exiting, or lengthening of the period of heavy snow, I could slightly exceed the top of those ranges.
It goes without saying those predictions were made by our excellent team here.

Blitzing again, the subsidence was short lived here, but it just really is not accumulating very quickly, by now normally with snowfall like this it would be well over 6.

Seeing similar rates to Cp here in Dutchess. Went to my basement to excercise came back 40 mins later and saw 2 more imches. Close to 10 inches now. For us here 24 hours ago models were way more accurate then 12 hours ago when I had told myself i was gonna wake up to flurries.

Was 49* here yesterday afternoon. Now 31* with heavy snow and over 6" of snow on the ground. Was already sticking at 4 a.m. This is a good reminder of the conversation heehaw and I had on here this past weekend: Almost always will take a good storm track/dynamics with marginal temps the day before, over a bad track with colder temps the day before. Sometimes the storm makes the temps, the antecedent temps don't make the storm.

I think the idea that Frank starting a storm thread is a jinx has just been blown up. In fact, Frank should start every storm thread for the rest of the winter.

Late start here in coastal Monmouth County- didn’t switch to snow until just after 8 am. But it’s been ripping now for close to two hours and we are already pushing up on 3” so far. If this rate keeps up, probably will hit 5”, maybe 6” by 1 pm. While seeing those 10-12” imby forecasts the past few days felt great, I wasn’t expecting that for the coast at all. And this outcome is beautiful! Now, if we can just extend that last call by another hour or two!

Right,Pete, the malocchio has been lifted with this storm,LOL.And thanks for the supreme sacrifice of ignoring your snowblower.

Intensity down to light to moderate snow. Back edge approaching, maybe an increase in storm intensity will throw back some more snow, we will see.

Ripping snow again after maybe about 1/2 hr to an hr of light snow (maybe the subsidence that Frank spoke of). At least 6 inches OTG.
